    • Stopped working properly - shuts on and off randomly. Horrible customer service.

Have had this switch since March 2023 (a little over 1 year). Doesn't get rained on and is solely used for 1 pair of outdoor string lights. Last month it started to randomly shut on and off. Have taken multiple troubleshooting measures from Geeni's website. Deleted device and added it back, reinstalling the app, resetting device multiple times and still having the same issue. Contacted customer service and they are HORRIBLE. Not helpful, take forever to respond, completely wasting my time. At this point I'm better off just buying a new smart switch from a different brand and save the headache of dealing with Geeni's customer service. ... show more

I’ve been an Amazon smart plug purist because they work so well and install like a breeze. I needed an outdoor solution, so I decided to try this one and the price was right. Short story, it’s working now and the little cord makes it easy to plug into the weatherproof box outside. I tried for an hour to get it to connect. Confusing about which method to use. I tried them all (Bluetooth, manual, automatic) and nothing would work. Instructions and web search no help. The app was seeing the device, but it would not connect. I brought it inside and sat right next to my router. Nothing. Finally, just on a hunch, I unplugged my Roku and my security camera. By the time I returned to my phone, there was a big green check mark and it was connected and working. I guess I need to increase my wifi speed. It controls my outdoor lights just fine. A little lag on the on/off function but nothing too bad. Overall for the price, and to not get mosquito bites to turn off the lights, I’m pretty pleased so far. ... show more

Wasn’t sure if this would work the Smartlife app, as it wasn't mentioned in the description. However, as soon as I plugged it in it popped up in the Smartlife app. Setup took less than a minute and it’s working perfectly outside in my backyard controlling outdoor lighting.
