  • Worst printer I ever bought
This printer for me earns several rewards: • Most difficult to get up and running • Most easily to break down • Most picky to 99 things beginners don't know but will absolutely break it. • Worst customer service (tech support is ok, but cs policies suck) Still haven't got one usable print. My previous 3 printers were no problem, by contrast. If you're an expert at settings and printer repair, have at it. ... show more

  • Received a referb unit...
So this new purchase arrived as a used/referb unit (stamped with amazon's referb on the box). Parts were not packed well, obvious signs of previous use - plastic still on the hot end nozzle for example. I ultimately sent this one back due to some issues with the build plate, but here is what you need to know if you buy an A20T: * Do yourself a favor and install Marlin firmware 2.x. You're going to need it to do accurate mesh bed leveling * The stock bed leaves much to be desired, and will likely not be flat. Mine was bowed in the center, so no amount of corner adjustment would get it flat. To address this, you will need to manually initiate a mesh leveling of the bed (Install marlin 2.0 and enable LCD mesh leveling). I use 21 point to get a flat build surface. * You will need to calibrate your E-steps for each one, mine was over extruding on all of them. * The hot end have a higher jam rate if you don't keep 3 colors in it, even if you're using 1 extruder. Granted, if you're buying a 3 color printer you're probably going to have 3 colors loaded...but just something to be aware of. * The stock nozzle kinda sucks. Mine was likely damaged/clogged due to it being used. I swapped out for a M7 steel unit and re-leveled. I always recommend ditching factory brass and going with a good new nozzle (either brass or steel, you will replace brass more often). * Showing it's age. The steppers are loud, and it's an old Arduino based board. Not a bad thing, just noisy compared to newer printers * Couldn't get abs to stick to the stock build plate consistently. Might have been a fluke, but I ended up using tape since I know it works. Will it print in multiple colors? Yes. Will it print right out of the box? No way. Expect to spend time getting it dialed in and level, along with finding the sweet spot for your filament temps. Overall not a horrible printer, but not worth the coin unless you explicitly are trying to do 3 color or PVA supports (note: it CAN be done with a mixing hot end, you will just have to set up a tower wipe and fine tune it). For new people to printing, just buy a Neptune2 or something along those lines for excellent prints right out of the box. If you spend the time getting this one dialed in however, it can produce nice results. ... show more

  • Great Printer, You must change the default start code.
I got this printer, it works great. I have read many reviews on here, saying that they cant get it to print one color. This is because the default GCODE has a gradient code inserted, you change that and it works great! Just like any 3D printer you must find out exactly what works for that machine or don't. As with any 3D machine expect a little trial and error to get it dialed in just right. Other reviews on here, show that people expect it to work right out of the box, like all 3d printers. This is not true for any 3D printer to work right out of the box. Do yourself a favor and watch Youtube reviews, they will explain what needs to be done. I am overall very happy with the printer, I just can't stop fiddling with it. However Tech support does need improvement, if you are one of those people that MUST call tech support for everything, then this is not the brand for you. ... show more

  • Buyer beware!!!
We ordered this directly from the company. The box came damaged, but we thought we would try it anyway. It broke when finishing the 1st part. At first they responded, but after a month, we still don't have the parts to fix it and they won't return our messages. Now we have a disappointed kid who hasn't been able to use their new printer/birthday for over a month! ... show more

  • Great 1st printer, one whose capabilites will make it last
I've been using this printer since August 2020, have made dozen of prints, and have gotten a decent feel for it. The print bed was a little loose at first, so build adhesion was iffy. After tightening that and re-leveling, prints have gone great. Early on I made a few mistakes and Tech Support provided responses pretty quickly, even sending me replacement parts. Couple of tips: 1.) ALWAYS have filament loaded in every extruder, even if doing single color prints! You risk clogging the unused port(s) in the print head. You'll end up having to drill out hardened plastic to unclog it. 2.) Never mix filament types (e.g. PLA and PETG). Different melting temperatures pretty much guarantee a print failure. There are a few things I wish were better: - Changing the Z-offset during a print does nothing. You have to restart prints to dial in the Z-offset...which is a royal pain. - Replacing the print head thermistor requires removal and disassembly of pretty much the entire print head. Since thermistor wiring is so thin and sensitive, having easier access would be really nice... Overall, I'm very happy with this printer. The color switching and blending features are AWESOME. I'm very glad I went with a more capable printer for my first printer. Have experienced multi-color printing, I could never accept a single filament printer. I've pretty much dialed in PLA printing, but am still "dialing in" PETG. I've had some successful prints, but plenty of failed ones as well. 3D printing is a tinkerers hobby - EXPECT to have failures and thing break; while annoying at times, you'll get to know your printer better each time. ... show more
