    • Solid oil Filter Wrench!

This is a good well made oil filter wrench for those smaller, dinky filters. My older model vehicle was supposed to have the larger form filter (about 3" around) but somewhere along the line the quickie oil change place I used switched it to the small filter. I purchased the proper filter that this particular car is suppose to have but when I tried to replace the filter, I found that my larger filter wrench would not fit the smaller size. That's actually when I first noticed this was a smaller filter. I was pretty upset about this development. I tried two different wrenches before purchasing this one, neither of which worked for me, because to add insult to injury, the quick change place evidentially tightened the filter they put on with a wrench and it just wouldn't budge and the wrenched kept slipping or coming off. It took me three tries before I finally got a good bit on it with this one and it finally began to unscrew. I was very pleased with this tool and it saved the day. ... show more

4/5 Stars This set performed well for quite a while and is a great value for the money. The swivel design makes it much easier to reach filters in tight spaces, and I think it would be an excellent choice for most automotive work. As a heavy equipment mechanic, though, my experience was a little different. Heavy equipment oil filters are often installed much tighter and require considerably more force. After a lot of use, I eventually bent one of the wrenches. I don’t necessarily consider that a defect—it simply reached its limit under applications that are probably more demanding than what it was designed for. If you’re working on cars or light trucks, I’d recommend this set without hesitation. For heavy equipment, just understand that it’s a bit more of a hit-or-miss tool depending on how tight the filters are. ... show more

Got what I thought looked an old school quality tool. Finally got to my project and the plastic sleeve refused to stay on the handle when doing anything put holding it up to show my wife. Oh well, I can use it without a soft comfortable handle. From the start, it was nearly impossible to use without two hands because the band has a memory like a bear trap and insists on returning to max opening diameter at the slightest pause in activity. So its me fighting a band that requires continues tension to prevent it from not springing into max diameter. Its STRONG spring steel. It won't be the first took I used once and tossed. ... show more
