While it's difficult to say that this caulk will be mold free for a "lifetime," I'm having confidence in paying up for this supreme grade product. I've previously used reputable latex based caulking products, but I'm sold on 100% silicone because it doesn't contract very much when curing (important for windows in colder climates). I'll admit that this can be difficult to apply from a cheap ($5) caulk gun, which I ran into while re-caulking around a shower/tub liner. The cheaper caulk gun had a low thrust ratio (4:1), and it took everything I had to apply it. I liked this product's results very much, and I paid up for a better caulk gun (dual thrust ratio, 12:1 and 24:1), and that made a huge difference for the next DIYer job of using this same caulk for a window frame. Knowing the level of work to strip/clean and re-caulk, and given that I've got the right tool (higher thrust ratio caulk gun), I'm not going to settle for anything less than this GE supreme 100% silicone product. ... show more

The best caulking ever. I put green tape rite above and below the caulking area and filled it in with caulking, within an hour pulled off the tape. It looks professional and its quality is superb.

This stuff is fantastic. I recently recaulked my entire bathroom with this GE caulk, which looks terrific. Watch a few YouTube videos on tips and tricks, such as using slightly soapy water in a spray bottle and lightly spraying the caulked area. Also, spray your finger and then carefully drag your finger over the caulk line. It gives a professional finish. This stuff is easy to use, and the huge plus is the thirty-minute dry time. This caulk is very good at eliminating mold in my shower. Had chronic mold in shower pan and after replacing with this no mold in six months. Be aware that is is very sticky and difficult to apply. Hard to get a smooth finish as it is more like glue than caulk. For me the results were worth the extra installation time. ... show more

    • Great Product -- GE Supreme Silicone Caulk Is Simply The Best!

This stuff really works great. If you take your time, prepare the surfaces properly, and apply just a tiny bead of silicone, the results should put a smile on your face. BTW, YouTube has some excellent tips on proper caulking technique and how to get a professional finish. Most people apply WAY too much caulk. Just cut the applicator tip to create a tiny hole at 45 degrees. As an application guide, mark a center line on the tip with a Sharpie. Use a drip-free caulking gun (like a Newborn 189D). Apply just a thin even bead of silicone. From a small spray bottle, lightly spritz a bit of water on the silicone bead (some pros add a couple drops of Dawn to the water). Immediately smooth out the silicone caulk line with your water-dampened fingertip to achieve a professional finish. This Supreme version of GE silicone caulk is definitely worth the extra money. It is super smooth and stays clear longer than other silicone caulking. My only issue is that all silicone caulk has a limited shelf life. Also, the working time is brief when applied and the tube must be properly capped once opened. If you use fresh caulk and good technique, you should be able to achieve very professional results. ... show more
