I've got an office that isn't terribly large. It has a window, but not to the outside world. Just a window to the outside hall. The window itself is quite large, and spans nearly the entire distance from the ceiling down to the floor. I do a fair amount of video editing and video work, so it is nice to be able to shut off the lights and to be able to work to ensure colors and other things in the video are as accurate as possible. I'd never considered getting an electric shade like this, but one of the other guys in the office recently got one. For $335, this is up there in comparison to just black out curtains, but there is something to say about convenience. It comes in a long brown box (big surprise), and I got the 38" x 76" version. That ended up being perfect for my window. Installation isn't difficult at all, and it really looks nice. These are like your cheap paperish curtains. Frankly, they shouldn't be at this price anyway, but GE has done a solid job on these. The texture is nice, and they're pretty thick. The remote control makes things nice and easy. With the click of a button, the shades go down automatically. They do so fairly quickly, and you're off and running. Calling all Night Shift workers! This is what you have been needing. I know it’s what my husband has been needing. Everybody who works a night shift likes a good blackout curtain, but this brings a little bit of luxury to it as well. Not only is it’s superior light blocking, the fact that there is a remote with it makes it even more lovely for those times you get in bed and remember you forgot to pull down the blinds. The installation was super easy. I was prepared to look it up on YouTube or something, but I did not need to and I am far from a person who’s good at this type of thing. I was happy to say it came with all its hardware, because like most people I always fear missing piece or two. I am absolutely thrilled to have this. And I have to say that my Night Shift working husband is in love as well. It functions smoothly and there have been no problems. As for The price? Well that’s really gonna be up to you and your personal budget but if you do have the money for it, this is worth every penny. If you work a graveyard or Night Shift and value your sleep and have not been getting satisfactory light blocking from your current blinds it’s worth the investment in this. The adjustability is also really nice. No, it is not cheap but overall it will save you a lot of sleepless days. In the long run, I think that pays off pretty big. The media could not be loaded. Nice concept, and I really wanted these to work. Even a teen didn’t like them, which says a lot. The curtains themselves are made of true blackout material, and the center area does a good job blocking light. Unfortunately, a lot of light still comes in from the sides, which kind of defeats the purpose. They’re also somewhat noisy, especially when adjusting or moving them.
