The media could not be loaded. I am a baker. I make and sell macarons from my home. I also enjoy baking all kinds of sweets. My brand name mixer that looks similar wasn't working how I wanted it to, so I decided to give this mixer a try. First of all, it is HEAVY! You'll probably want to get this mixer to it's new home and leave it be. It is also SO close to being too tall to fit under my cabinets. I have to pull it out to access the buttons on top. The timer is nice. You can set the time in 15 second increments, turn it to your desired speed, and let it do it's job. This is nice when you have to mix something for a specified amount of time. The scale is OK, but with baking, you want to be precise, and it isn't super precise. I usually bake in grams. When I tested out the scale, it measures in 5g increments. If you need any amount that isn't a multiple of 5, you will need another scale. You put the bowl on, turn on the scale, and pour your ingredients in. It is very handy to be able to have the bowl attached and ready to go while you're measuring. There are 11 speeds. Slow to extremely fast. 11 almost feels like the mixer is going to take off! It takes it's time speeding up. I think that's a great feature because if you're mixing with dry ingredients, they won't splash out as easy. When you turn it off, it turns off almost instantly. Also, another great feature. If something goes wrong, you don't have to wait long at all for it to switch off. The attachments get pushed up and click in. In order to get them out, you pull down on the ring they attach to, and they drop out. It's very easy. The mixer comes with 3 attachements, whisk, cookie paddle and a dough hook. It also comes with a splash cover. I haven't found much use for the bluetooth setting. You have to use pre-loaded recipes., and I haven't gotten around to trying them out. Also, the price is a little steep. It is hard to justify spending $800 on a mixer unless you are a professional baker. Overall, I am very happy with this mixer. The media could not be loaded. This is a great stand mixer from GE. There are so many capabilities, I doubt I will need another anytime in the near future. It is sleek and elegant looking, and just looking at it leaves no question that it is a high quality product. Finding a place to store it is a challenge, and I will be leaving it on my island until I can build an addition on it to store this massive piece of kitchenware. The attachments connect and disconnect easily and function perfectly. One great feature I had not noticed with other whisk attachments is the section with a large gap. This makes it easy to scrape batter out with a spatula. The dough hook is pretty typical as is the paddle, with the exception of styling. The built-in scale is great, but I wish it could measure in less than 5g increments. I am not entirely sure how the scale works though, because if the mixing bowl is off the base on the arms, it is able to weigh it. It is also able to weigh contents of a bowl sitting on the bottom of the mixer. I don't have a set of weights, co I cannot verify the accuracy of the scale, but it is a little off from the scale I usually use. "These go to eleven." As the infamous saying goes, this mixer for some reason goes to 11. Not sure why, but maybe it is an homage to the Marshall amp from Spinal Tap. Fortunately, you don't need to master the speed settings yourself since the "Smart HQ" app is loaded with several guided recipes to make your baking easier. It was a little wonky to setup the App initially, but once I got through it I realized how helpful it could be. Admittedly, I did need a little help from TS, who were also unfamiliar with the mixer. Voice Control leaves something to be desired, but it really is a secondary feature. For safety purposes, the mixer cannot be started with voice, but you can change the speeds or stop it vocally. You can also issue the reverse command with voice control, but the speed must first be set to "zero". Personally, I don't foresee myself using the voice control much, so the difficulties really won't matter much to me. The attachment socket on the front of the mixer works just as well as any other mixer. I tested out a Shaved Ice attachment and it connected/disconnected easily. I have not checked into if lubricating the socket is necessary or not, but I will need to make sure before I use the attachments much more. Next attachment I get for this will be a grain mill so I can custom make some flours for breadmaking. That is about all I have to say about this mixer. If the cost is not an issue for you and you are looking for a first-time purchase, or an upgrade/replacement for your current mixer, you will not be sorry for picking this one up.
