The media could not be loaded. Last year I moved my bedroom tv to the other side of the room. The wall it's mounted on is my son's room on the other side. As it started getting hot outside I put my old AC in the window and immediately realized that wasn't going to work. My AC was really loud which meant I had to raise the volume on the television and risk waking up my son at night. "Well that ain't good LOL." So I decided to look for a qiueter air conditioner. I started shopping by looking into one of those U shaped air conditioners. They're really nice but they require a support bracket to hold the body of the unit outside of the window. My room is on the 2nd floor right above the porch and my windows are right above the porch roof line. Which means there's not enough space below the outside window sill to properly install the support. So I looked into other AC's that claim to be "ultra quiet." I'm so glad I decided to give this model a go. Where do I start describing this bad boy. Well first and foremost it's RIDICULOUSLY QUIET! I downloaded a decible app on my phone to test how quiet it is and it runs under 40db from 3 feet away. That's quiet. It's very well designed to. The vents are slanted upwards which means it blows upward and not straight at you. I'm not a big fan of cold air blowing directly at me so kudos to GE. The install was super easy but it is pretty heavy for being a 6,000BTU (6,150BTU to be exact) unit. The face comes out further than most AC's do. It's about 8 inches past the window sill but it looks really good. And to add icing to the top of the cake this is a smart air conditioner. Not only does it connect to your smartphone it's also voice controlled through Alexa and Google. Admittedly the voice control has a few kinks that could be worked out but it doesn't bother me. I just use the remote or the app. A really nice feature on the app is that it tells you exactly how much power is being used and tracks it daily. Update after a few weeks. I couldnt be happier. Very quiet especially on "quiet" mode during the night. Sometimes I wake up and wonder if it's on, no kidding. Easy to turn up or down while in bed "Alexa ask Geneva to set the air conditioner fan to low" for example works great. App works great and keeps track of usage and KWH used. It's definitely a bit more expensive but the quietness, voice and app control is great. Display is bright but turns off after about 30 seconds. My first time setting up WIFI, I screwed up. Press and HOLD WIFI button to reset and start over. I have a few wifi networks in the house, best to have phone and A/C on the same network to set up I think. Operation is fine from any network or via cellular when not home or even remote Echo Dot. Great product. Only been installed for 1 day so far. I am not sure who wrote reviews about this unit being noisy. I have had many and this is the quietist by far. The WIFI set up was a breeze and the app is very nice. Once installed on my iPhone, by downloading the app on other devices like iPad, just login and it is available also. You have access to all the features and controls. I did also purchase a window mount (Ivation Mount https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZH178M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that is also great. Allows installation by one person very simple, it supports the unit so you can just slide it in place. The unit has some weight on the inside so not 100% of the weight is pulling on the window. It is nice that the bright display dims then goes off after about a minute. Downside is that you're not sure if it's on if it happens to be in the "off" state while in ECO mode. Need to tap a button for all to re-light. No biggie. Yup, it's expensive and with the $100 bracket it was more expensive but I am really happy with the quiet operation as it's in the bedroom and ease of setup. If you happen to have multiple wifi networks in your house, I found it seems to need your phone to be on the same network as the one you want to put the A/C on. After setting it up, it works from any of them. I just turned mine on and changed some settings from work and verified the changes with my wife watching it. I have not tried it with Alexa yet, I think it is supposed to work but there were not instructions for that. ... show more

It’s easy to install, cooled the area instantly and maintained well! I especially love that the screen is large to see the temperature, mode and info across the room. And that it doesn’t stay lit up either, a quick click in the remote lights it up for a minute then clears and that is so important at night! The last thing I wanted was it to light up all night-I need and love a DARK room. And other models have stayed on and been such an annoying light. But not this brand! Yeah!! And the quiet mode helps lesson the noise level. But within a couple nights it became white noise and didn’t sound bad at all. A wonderful dark, cool room to sleep in on a hot summer night is so worth the price! ... show more

Quiet feature is very quiet, a low hum. I can definitely sleep with this noise right next to my bed. Compact and nice sleek design. CON: I HATE that there are no actual buttons on the A/C. I have to aggressively hit the setting area multiple times on A/C to turn it on or off. I have to point the Remote Control the certain way, otherwise the A/C does not get the signal. Remote control says it's turned on, but the A/C itself is not turned on. I have to hit the same button 3x sometimes because I didn't point it right. ... show more
