The reviews vary a lot, I'm assuming they've updated these over time. I purchased 3 of them and they were all identical. They use an IR remote that has to point in the direction of the bulb to work. There are 8 colors with each having 2 shades for 16 in total with the ones I got, plus the two shades of regular light. All the color options are dimmable. The colors don't seem to get as bright as the regular light but they are reasonably bright. There's also strobe and color shift modes as well, and a power button to turn them on/off remotely. The remote has a decent range of 15-25 feet for me and included batteries. Overall, these bulbs work pretty great. I recommend them. ... show more

Even though I have to leave the light switch flipped on, or the lamp toggle clicked on, I enjoy being able to carry the small remote and command my lights to work for me. I intend to replace all my bulbs with these, as I can easily move through the house and turn on what I need as I go. My house was poorly designed with light switch placement, so the remote helps me feel safe as I enter a room, instead of having to cross through the room to flip the switch. Further, the colors are many. There are two hues to each color, plus dimming capability. And, a handy feature is the clock, where you click how many hours you’d like it to remain on. Great gift. Lots of color options and the remote is easy to use. The remote is small for little hands but could get lost easily. Not sure how to use the two bulbs with just one remote but I guess that’s for two lamps in the same room. Overall decent purchase for the money.

Just replace your bedroom light with this and you don't have to stand up fro your bed to turn off the light. The light bulb comes with an easy to use remote control. You can change brightness, color or simply turn on or off the light. I will get another one to install at the porch to help guest or delivery heroes to find the place. Installed three bulbs in one room. Two as a pair, one in a chandelier. One remote can control them all, simply by pointing at them.
