Ordered the 10k BTU A/C on Sunday and it was delivered on Monday afternoon . Pulled out an 18 yr. old 12k LG unit from a through the wall sleeve and put this unit in the old sleeve . This GE unit was smaller so it was easy to cut solid Styrofoam blocks to seal around the open space ... New GE unit is working fine and a lot quieter than the old LG it replaced . It comes with a remote control which is nice ... I did download the app but after seeing the permissions this thing wants , I deleted it ... sure it is nice and entertaining for a minute or two ... but I really don't think I need to send the indoor temperature of my house to china along with the ability to monitor my carbon foot print and sell the info to the U.S. government . I am glad people write reviews so other people can get an idea of what to expect but when I read a few reviews about bright light inside the unit , I thought they were kinda crazy ... My apology ... the reviews were not crazy vampire people that were sensitive to a little light ... its really a thing with these new a/c units ... its really bright after install ... on or off it does not make a difference if the sun is out it will be about equal to turning on a 40 watt light bulb ... the cause of this thing lighting up is because they are using cheap open cell white Styrofoam which is nearly transparent as an inside/outside air separator .... like everything else , its likely much cheaper than black plastic .... the fix for this is a lot of work ... remove the case from the unit and paint the white Styrofoam with black latex paint or any dark water based paint ... or maybe spray it with glue and use aluminum foil ... just remember .. solvent based paint will actually eat the Styrofoam and likely void any warranty . Update .... Its been 2 months ... its working very well ... Eco mode on this unit works great , I would buy it again ! I should explain the picture ... My old unit was built in though the wall so I just left the sleeve in the wall and put this new unit in the old sleeve , I cut a solid block 5"x20" to fill in the size difference and printed the vent on my house printer and glued it over the foam just to make it look more finished ! ... show more

When you set the temp on the app it doesn’t keep the temp you set it on. It defaults back to 68 and runs nonstop. Junk

I paid for a top-of-the-line A/C and got 9-10th of it. The Wi-Fi does not work. The A/c goes to sleep before the connection can be made. Outside of that, it's great. It turns itself on and off, its quit, and keeps the room cool.

This unit was easy to install with two people and I love the efficiency and timer settings. Also the remote is easy to read with big buttons. I may not be old but I do have arthritis, so this makes the remote easy to use.

About a week after installing this unit our upstairs air-conditioner went completely out. We were so glad we had this unit installed in our bedroom! The repair tech couldn't come out for almost a week, but we were able to stay igloo cool in our room thanks to this mighty might of an air-conditioner! We purchased this unit because our central air could not quite cool down our bedroom during the summer months, and it has proven to be a wise decision. It literally freezes us out sometimes, and we have to adjust the temperature so it isn't so cold! A nice problem to have! ... show more

When my husband sets the thermostat to 72 I have to put on a sweatshirt this is a great air conditioner. We do not use the remote nor do we have adequate internet to use the wifi so I cannot speak to those aspects. The one thing I want to share is UPS delivered it on it's side. Anything with refrigerant, an air conditioner or a refrigerator has to sit upright for several hours before it is plugged in because the refrigerant has to settle in the right place. My husband was out of town so I was able to have it sitting upright on the porch for 24 hours before it was installed and it works fantastic. ... show more
