  • Great Coffee Maker with a slight downside...
Style: NEW Thermal Carafe
What I like about this coffee pot is it sits in the small area on my counter perfectly like a little coffee nook. I like that It has a reusable coffee filter. After using it I leave the lid slightly ajar using the top of the coffee pot so that it dries a little before the next use. The reason why I said great coffee pot but... is because I thought the warming burner would offer a hotter coffee after having brewed a pot. So for those of us that like hotter coffee, I simply pop mug in the microwave if I'm using the coffee that has been sitting on the warmer for a while. ... show more

  • Coffee was warm not hot
Style: NEW Thermal Carafe
Looks like a very well constructed coffee machine. The only problem is the coffee came out a little hotter than warm but I couldn't say it was hot.

  • Hard to use!
Style: NEW Thermal Carafe
I wanted a coffee maker that used an insulated carafe and had a programmable starting feature. Pretty basic functions for a coffee maker. Although this GE machine has both of those features, I can't tell you how much I hate using it! And it's basically because of functionality. First, the lid for the water reservoir does not stay open by itself. You have to hold it open while you pour the water in from the carafe. Then you have to hold it open while you scoop the coffee into the filter. None of this is easy to do with one hand. It shouldn't be that difficult. Second, the carafe is built in such a way that to get all the water out when filling the reservoir, I have to practically turn the carafe upside down to get the remainder of the water out. It does not empty easily. Also, and maybe the most frustrating, the lid of the carafe. To open and remove the lid, it must be in the Unlocked position. The tiniest Lock/Unlock symbols are barely recognizable and difficult to find. Once you place the lid on and in the correct position, you have to turn it slightly to the Locked position. That simple act is nearly impossible with wet hands, which I always have when cleaning the filter and preparing to make coffee. If the lid is not in the Locked position, once you go to pour the coffee into a cup, if tipped too far forward, the lid will pop off and hot coffee will spill everywhere. So, a hard NO for me. I will be buying a new machine and starting over. ... show more

  • lid
Style: NEW Thermal Carafe
The lid doesn't have an easy lid to secure. Once I do lock it in, I keep worrying that when I pour the first batch of coffee that the lid will come off! The pouring spout is always open, so coffee cools a lot faster than my old brand that stopped working. Lastly, the center of the lid where the coffee drips into the pot when brewing, never empties, always leaving a messy look! ... show more

  • Buy NEW, get sent USED
Style: NEW Thermal Carafe
Just a warning: I bought this as a NEW unit, but was sent a USED unit. How do I know this? When I took the coffeemaker out of the box, it was STILL wet from when it must have been cleaned to resell. SEE PHOTOS

  • Coffee pot
Style: NEW Glass Carafe
This is a pretty nice coffee pot. I like that it comes with a reusable filter. I also like the look of the coffee pot, it looks nice with my other appliances. It has the timer which is great for people that like to have hot coffee ready for them when they get up. It’s a basic coffee pot so it is easy to use. I do wish that it came with more than one charcoal filter, it says to change it every 3 months and I just don’t like that they want you to purchase additional items for this, just a personal preference. Also the lid on the top that you open to pour the water in does not stay open on its own which I find very inconvenient when you are trying to pour liquid in to it, making it more likely to spill since you have to use one hand to hold it open and the other to pour. Some people have issues with their hands, like arthritis, and need to be able to use both hands to hold the pot while pouring. Over all I like this coffee pot, with the exception of the lid not staying open itself. ... show more
