My son recenty relocated from Florida to Washington State going from one tip of the country to the other. In Florida, many homes do not have furnaces as it stays hot most of the time. There were times he had to use his oven to help heat the house. Now that he lives outside of Seattle, he has no A/C because it "never gets that hot"....so they say. Boy were they wrong! for a couple weeks straight temps rose into the 90s. No A/C resulted in a very hot uncomfortable house. I surprised him with this window unit and he has been thanking me since. He said it keeps his upstairs cool and comfortable. He works from home and the master bedroom is on the second floor, so this has been a complete win, win for him. Plus the price was right!     • Fantastic AC & app control is amazing but I can’t get Alexa to connect

Wonderful AC - it really feels like it’s more powerful than the stated power rating which is fantastic. The app lets you control the AC from anywhere in the house with AC, showing the current temp setting and actual room temp which is very useful. The only hitch has been my inability to get Alexa connected. I can use the app to control the AC, but when I look under my account, it shows no devices associated with my account. So Alexa doesn’t see it. I don’t think it’s an issue with Amazon, and I hope I either find out what I’m doing wrong or they fix the app/account system. But using it from my phone is almost as good, and at this price, I’d be fine with just the app. Some good App shows electricity usage at the moment and over time Strong fan Lighter than expected but still needed help Reasonably bright LED display that goes out after a few mins Air filter monitor & cleaning alert More cooling capacity than expected Some bad Economy mode is hit or miss; sometimes keeps cooling needlessly Sliding the window shade things into the metal sides cut/destroyed them Remote doesn’t have any display, just basic buttons Alexa connectivity problems ... show more

We are really surprised with how happy we are with this small air conditioner. It comes with paneling to cover up the typical unsightly air conditioner accordian panels so you barely even notice this air conditioner in a low level window (assuming your walls are white). It blends in nicely. Now, the power: we live in a temperate climate (Santa Monica) where until recently you didn't really need AC. With rising temperatures, we wanted to get more comfortable on the ultra hot days but knew we'd only need this for 20 or so days a year. So even though we have a 900 sq foot apartment, we opted for a cheaper AC since we figured some cool air would be better than none, and we didn;'t want to pay a crazy price for 20 days of cool air. This works perfectly for our unit. We have in the living room, and during the day we close the doors to both bedrooms and the office. During the night, we open the bedroom door to push the air into that room, and it cools down quickly. It wouldn't suffice for the whole space, but right now the second bedroom is an office so its no problem. That said, it would be cool enough so you are not sweating, so I still think you could swing it. Depends on how cold you like it (we are used to warm temperatures and don't like dry throats/stuffy noses that comes from an AC, which dehumidifies the place). Overall very happy, and would recommend for smaller apartments. ... show more

Bought this Window Unit Aug 2021, it’s already gone. The medium fan blower setting is completely dead only have low and high, The control board is faulty causing it to randomly raise the temp or change it from cool to just fan, and then shut off, and the buttons on the unit do nothing use the remote it comes on for 2 mins and goes crazy, and you can’t even buy or find a replacement control board for it bc GE or aftermarket don’t offer it for this model. I’ve had other window units last 10+ years before having issues, this thing still looks brand new but doesn’t work at all. Didn’t even last a full 3 years. Save your money and don’t buy this one ... show more

LOVE IT SO MUCHH!!! My room is a small room but it would get up to 101 degrees (no ac in the house AT ALL) while outside is 110 degrees Fahrenheit. This 8,000 btu cooled it nicely. Noise level is okay if you do not mind the sound and the installation was EASY! Also if you get the wifi version BEFORE you install it make sure you write THE WIFI PASSWORD on the side of the ac. Front of instructions say this. I didn’t do this so I cant connect to my phone unless I take my ac down. My boyfriend helped me and we just cut a wood to hold the ac and plywood to seal it off in our sliding window. Value for money could be better, but I understand because its on demand right now. I paid a whopping $249 for it so it is going higher I see. Note to self buy summer things in winter lol ... show more

    • Fantastic Air Conditioner but not meant for all windows

When I first got this AC I was disappointed that this unit is meant to be installed on a flat windowsill and not for a window that has a piece sticking up from the windowsill (not sure what it is called but is is for insulation). But I was able to install it without securing it with the screws and brackets. Then I was surprised the lowest temp setting on this is 64 degrees when every other AC I ever had went down to 60. Well I have to say that it doesn't need to go less than 64 as this AC blows really cold and spreads across the room quickly. The Smart HQ app to remotely use this AC works great. I really like this air conditioner. The installation was a little bit tricky because it doesn’t tell you what sides the connecting piece of should be. Needless to say I had to install it several times to figure out how it would fit in the window. The plastic curtains could’ve been labeled better any instructions could’ve said what sides they go on. Anyway, once it’s installed it works really well and it seals really well. Definitely use the foam tape they provide with it and seal your windows before you put the air conditioner in and you’ll have a perfect seal. The other thing is that it says to tilt the air conditioner which When properly fit in the window doesn’t tilt. However there are cops at the bottom in dented in the base that drain the water perfectly while it’s level not tilted. So if you don’t get a tilt not to worry you’re still drinking water out of the back. ... show more
