I bought these to replace units that were old. I didn't expect there to be such a huge ordeal after that. I plugged my tv into one and it immediately fried my tv. I contacted Jasco to file a claim against the warranty and it was denied. They said it worked just fine, even though it didn't work when it was in my possession...not sure what type of magic they worked there but they're just terrible terrible people. They admitted to not even testing the plugs for functionality, so how does it work when they didn't actually test it to see if it worked? Fraud. Theft. Poor Customer Service. The media could not be loaded. There is no locking mechanism on the product. “Twist to close” would be accurate but it no way do the covers lock into place. I would consider the covers then just a nuisance since it offers no protection and is so easily moved into undesired positions. BEWARE! If you try plugging in a simple, two-pronged plug, such as a table lamp, it won't fit. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but half-a-dozen friends and family members tried and failed. To clarify the issue, the power strip plugs into the wall outlet with no problem. The appliances you want to use do not fit into the strip unless they have a grounded, three-prong plug. My Echo dots, my phone chargers, and my nightstand lamps will not plug into it. The media could not be loaded. This is an attractive surge protector. Good length options, sleek colors, and made by a reputable brand (GE). The plugs can even turn sideways for protection if they’re not in use. It also has mounting capability with use of screws. The downsides: The light turns on when its on, so if you need to use it there will be a blue light which can be annoying if you’re trying to sleep. Also having to get up and turn it off, but you could just put a piece of tape over it I suppose. There are only 2 holes in the back for mounting meaning its not as sturdy as it should be if it had more. I screwed it as tightly as I could and it still has some decent wiggle room side-to-side. Also this may only apply if you have OCD like myself but the words on the front can only be right-side-up if its mounted in the orientation that I have it in (see photos). ... show more

This power strip seems to be a good value for the money. I'd been using an orange outdoor type multi-plug extension cord for my stereo equipment for many years. I added some new equipment and wanted the security of the surge protection as well as the extra outlets. I found some of the outlets in this strip a bit hard to plug into, but once plugged in it doesn't make much difference. The cord and plug seem sturdy. NOTE: Pay attention to the wall-plug type, as it depends on the length of cord you select; look at the pictures. The 2- and 3-foot lengths come with the bulkier, standard plug that protrudes further from the wall. I got the flat wall plug with the 4-foot length cord. ... show more

I hate GE products. I try never to buy GE products because EVERY TIME I DO, THEY FAIL! I chumped off and bought this because I really needed a short multiplug surge protector, I didn't want to break quarantine, and there just wasn't a lot of choice on Amazon. I plugged my microwave into this piece of &$#@!. It then proceeded to emit a loud buzzing noise from the microwave itself every time we used it. I thought that it was the microwave and that it was about to blow up. Then my son accidentally moved the surge protector and the buzzing went away. Yeah, it was the GE surge protector.     • Plug Orientation Photo Misleading

I ordered this surge protector specifically because it was the correct cord length I needed and had a right angle plug that was oriented with a 45 degree offset, as pictured in the item description. The 45 degree plug orientation/offset was crucial as I was using a duplex wall outlet that already had another right angle plug in use, vertically oriented 90 degrees and I needed to use both wall outlets. When the item arrived, showing the correct model# it was immediately apparent that the plug was not offset 45 degrees but was oriented vertically, 90 degrees, meaning it would not fit into the duplex outlet. At least the Amazon return process via Kohl's was super easy and on the way home, I stopped at a big box store and bought a 2-pack of the same product for the same price. ... show more

    • Probably OK, but one weird issue...

So this is just a power strip with surge protector. There's not much to review here...overall, it works fine. The cord is quality, the plugs don't feel like they'll fall apart, etc. But we bought this to use with my son's computer, and in doing so we found a weird issue: With this power cord in use, my son's desktop computer would just randomly lose all power and turn off. Not a controlled shut down, but just instantly off. It was really bizarre, and for a couple of days it didn't occur to me that it could be this power strip. But it didn't do this before we started using this power strip, and so I thought to test that theory. Sure enough, putting a different power strip in place resolved the issue - no more sudden power loss. So I'm not sure what the deal is with this one, but it didn't like that setup.
