I had SERIOUS humidity in my apartment in Miami Beach. This unit worked very well for over a year before I moved out of that place (so I'm not using any more). I used it both with the internal collection tub, or with a hose attached so it would drain into the shower. Both worked fine. When there is a lot of humidity and it is on high it will collect an AMAZING amount of water very quickly -- maybe 6-8 hours to fill the internal tub. As for noise level, I wouldn't describe it as loud, but it's also not silent. When on low settling I have slept with it less than 6 feet from my head and had no trouble sleeping. Waste of money. They did not test their product. Didn't come with the stopper for where the host came out so if you didn't use the hose, it leaks everywhere. Even when you put the hose it, it still leaks. Don't even think there way a pump. Water just went everywhere. Then trying to return it with a 3rd party seller was such a headache and did not have the normal return options that Amazon has. ... show more

I bought this specifically for the pump, but it does not have a pump as advertised. If you're buying this dehumidifier for the pump, don't buy it. I saw another reviewer who said the same thing, and I thought it might have been a fluke. It wasn't a fluke; it really doesn't have a pump.

Great dehumidifier! Wrings 50+ pints out of the air in less than 24 hours. Was a bit noisy at first, but quieted down after 2 or 3 days. Like the controls and the included pump which vastly expands where you can place this. Highly recommend.
