Ordered Wednesday May 6 and received Friday May 8. Carton was in perfect condition and install was easy and straightforward. I did some minor adjustments to get the corners to sit more flush and seal better, but it's real easy. It looks great and folds easy. Haven't had it on long enough to experience rain yet, but I would assume some rain might get in but will likely be negligible. So far I love this bed cover and will update later if my opinion changes. Also, for those wondering what size bed, mine is the standard "mid" bed size or 6'4". The more common short bed is 5'7" but I would think that fit and assembly would be the same for that size. Update: I've had it installed a couple months now. The rubber seals on the top sides seamed to seal up better after being in the hot weather after a couple weeks, and have had no rain inside the bed. At first I got a tiny amount of water in the rear corners, but I assume those rubber seals weren't quite sealed yet from being folded in the box. So I am impressed with the quality of this tri-fold cover. Update 2: Six months in and this cover has proven to be a great buy! It hasn't leaked any rain into the bed ever since the rubber seals weathered into place. Removing it to load my 4 wheeler is stupid simple and goes back on just as easily. It has held up well to quarter size hail earlier this summer. No dents at all. I just spoke to a guy with a Bak Flip who has dents from hail, though I don't know what size hail he encountered. ... show more

Bought the EFX Hard trifold based on positive reviews on Amazon. There were not a lot of reviews but the high percentage of good reviews were worth a shot. The cover was medium priced and a good value for the money. The EFX was very well designed and was very easy to install. (2 people) Make sure you install the drain tubes before the rails. The only issue we has was the truck's stock plastic bed liner was warped at the front of the bed, but we'll take care of that later. I'd buy again. ... show more

    • It works great!
It was fairly easy to install. I did most of it by myself. It kept my luggage dry and safe while traveling. As long as you have a tailgage lock, it works great at keeping things locked up even though it doesn't have a physical lock.

    • Good Tonneau Cover for the Price, not water tight in back.

Looks good once installed. Installation was fairly easy. There are only 2 side rails to clamp down then you clamp the Tonneau cover to the rails in the back and you're done. It's a little heavier then I expected. There is no rail that goes across the back of the truck bed so it doesn't fit as well at the back as it does on the sides. There is a 1/4" gap between the bottom of the cover and the back truck rim all the way across. The gap is covered by the rubber gasket but the gasket does not rest on the truck rim because the side rails cause the cover to ride higher than the bed rim. So it leaks water under the cover in the back. If there were a mounting rail for the back I think this wouldn't happen. I guess if you want it to be water tight you have to pay for the more expensive models. ... show more

    • Don't waste your money if you want a dry truck bed!!!

I purchased a Gator EFX Hard Tri-Fold Truck Bed Tonneau Cover | GC34006 in April 2022. I paid $744.97 for this. It Installed it on my 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Installation was easy, and it looks great. So now we get to the issue. Every time it rains, my truck bed gets wet. I mean, water comes in from the corners. We are talking even if it sprinkles. I have added foam and silicone as suggested, (yes, the drain hoses are attached), but the corners leak. It still has a three-year warranty. But this doesn't cover it leaking. So, word to the wise, do not buy this if you want a dry bed. I have contacted Gator's Service and was told to add foam (which was already attempted). They proceeded to have me call Undercover (The actual manufacturer), and they were unable to help me due to the fact that they only manufacture them for Gator. ... show more

Installed on 2018 Ram 1500 with 5’ 7” bed. Took about an hour to install and adjust. I did it by myself but would be easier with a second set of hands. Instructions are pretty straightforward. It fits nicely and looks great. It’s as secure as you can get with a cover of this style. Have not seen any change in gas mileage. No water/ leaking from rain but did get some water in the bed after going thru car wash. Will definitely serve its purpose for me. Keep things mostly dry and out of plain sight.     • Good cover but......
Pattern Name: Gator Recoil | Retractable Size: 6' 4" Bed
I got this cover and got in just a few days. I am mechanical inclined which helped with this install. It appears that the tapped holes for the 4 screws that are needed per the instructions were not drilled or tapped very good. I ended up stripping 2 of the bolts and breaking one of the very small ones' that went into the cap ends. I had to drill it out and retap the holes with new screws. More of a pain really, but if your spending 1k for a retractable cover these items should be inspected and deemed good to go from the factory. Once I got passed that, and got everything lined up, cover operated just fine. I was struggling a bit in the instructions as I was trying to see if the cover should go on top of the tailgate, or just seal up against the tailgate. I left mine to just seal up against the tailgate, and will reach out to Gator for the answer on that one. Will update again after I put some time on this cover. ***Update*** Called Gator Support and the answered my questions with no problems. One other suggestion I thought of was to go to the Gator website and ensure you get the right number for your application. Amazon has an error on the call out for a new body style Vs. classic one. This question only applies for 1500 Ram's not the 2500 series or 3500. Yes, plugged in the data amazon asked and it sent me the wrong cover. Had to confirm what part number I really needed with Gator and then ordered the correct one on amazon. Hope all this info helps... ... show more
