This stand is heavy duty and I think I'll be very happy with it. I purchased the stand to make video's with a blue yeti microphone. The stand itself is heavy and dies not appear flimsy at all. I can see how screwing and unscrewing parts may wear the connections overtime. My suggestion - try not to break it down completely on a regular basis and try to leave the components screwed together if you can. I see no reason why this stand can't last me years for my personal use and out perform a cheaper, more flimsy microphone stand. ... show more

I'll start by saying that I'm not personally using this stand. I picked it up for my son. He's using it to suspend a Blue Yeti microphone above his monitors. That Blue's one heavy mic! I thought that the stand, configured as an almost-full-length horizontal boom from the side, would have a hard time locking in place. But no, it's just fine. I would have given five stars for stability but took one away because, honestly, this combination of a heavy mic hanging so far off-center is an inherently unstable setup. No fault of the stand. I got this as a vocal mic for drumming. It's way sturdier than the lightweight stand I tried before. It can handle the weight of a beta56 and gooseneck adapter easily at almost full extension, although I did have to add 2 pound weights to the back of the boom to counter-balance.

Great stand, great value. Very sturdy. I have it holding up a mic shield with a blue yeti atop a monstrously sized shock mount, and it holds it all up well. The hand grip lever is comfortable, convenient and works well adjusting height on the fly. Also folds up nice and easy, for those with a small home studio this is a great feature for mic stands you would rather store and bust out when needed.
