  • Garmin Fenix 8 – A Premium Watch That Delivers on All Fronts
Size: 47 mm Style: fenix 8 - AMOLED Color: Titanium with Orange/Graphite Band
I’ve been using the Garmin Fenix 8 for several weeks now, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box, the screen quality stands out — it’s bright, crisp, and incredibly easy to read in all lighting conditions, including direct sunlight. Whether I’m navigating maps, checking metrics mid-run, or reviewing data post-ride, the display never lets me down. Battery life is another standout feature. Even with GPS, continuous heart rate monitoring, and smart notifications enabled, I’m getting days — not hours — of use. For multi-day adventures or back-to-back workouts, this kind of reliability is a game-changer. The range and accuracy of the sensors are also impressive. GPS locks in quickly and tracks with precision. Heart rate, pulse ox, barometric altimeter, and temperature sensors all work seamlessly and consistently deliver accurate data that I can trust — essential for training and racing. Overall, the Fenix 8 is a rock-solid tool for anyone serious about fitness, adventure, or performance tracking. It’s rugged, smart, and loaded with features that justify every dollar. Highly recommend. ... show more

Design and Usability: Equipped with multiple physical buttons, the Fenix 8 makes navigation during workouts easier, allowing adjustments without the need to look at the screen. This feature is especially useful in intense activities or adverse conditions. Metrics Accuracy: The Fenix 8 offers advanced and precise metrics, including heart rate monitoring, VO2 max, training load, and recovery time. It also includes detailed offline maps and route and trail support, ideal for running in remote environments. • Great watch! Now just need garmin to work with peloton
Size: 47 mm Style: fenix 8 - AMOLED Color: Titanium with Orange/Graphite Band
Upgraded from a fenix 5 that was showing it's age. The amoled display is bright, snappy and gorgeous. The menu takes some getting used to, but it's much faster and easier once I figured it out. I wanted sapphire since my 5 picked up a few scratches over the years. I'm not sure why there's so much hate on the 8. The only issues I've read about are how it shut down in earlier patches when submerged in very cold water. Definitely an issue, but seems to be corrected. My old watch was steel. Titanium is so much lighter. It feels less substantial, which makes my mind assume it's less robust, but that's just a mental thing. The lighter weight is less pressure on my wrist. The built-in flashlight is super handy. Really enjoy having that. Having new activities available is also very nice. Battery life with the amoled screen is going to take more experience for me to figure out. I did a 3 hour hike and it drained 20% of my battery. The screen was on the whole time with altitude, compass, time and distance going. That alone has me worried since I do things that need much longer life than that. This was a concern abandoning the MIPS version, but the screen is so much better overall. I will update after some longer usages and whether or not I can disable always on mode during an activity. Screen remains visible in bright sun, something I was worried about since MIPS screens are great in bright sun and I dont want to be fighting glare on an led screen. I do wish Garmin and peloton worked together actively. Not sure why they don't but it's a frustration for a best in class fitness watch. You can have the watch broadcast heart rate to the bike, but the bike doesn't truly connect to share watts, speed, resistance, etc. It means I can't get VO2 info or any other true stress feedback via Connect from those sessions. Lastly there's major sticker shock on everything and this was no exception. I managed to get it a little under retail, but my fenix 5 was like $500 and that felt splurgy. $1100 is just nuts. ... show more

  • I got an idea, lets make this harder to see at night. Really? Yep. Garmin did it.
Size: 47 mm Style: fenix 8 - AMOLED Color: Titanium with Orange/Graphite Band
So close to perfect but on major flaw . As it gets darker outside or in your home, there is no way to turn off adaptive (auto) brightness. These dang watches are made to dim as the lightning around them gets darker. I took mine out for my first round of golf and the rain clouds came overhead and I thought my vision was going bad. The screen got so dim, my senior eyes could not longer see the it. Than I got home thinking maybe I did not know how to do the setting so it stayed bright only to read a ton of complaints on the Garmin site about the same issue. I understand the dimming feature to save battery life but to not make it something you can turn off and back on is nuts. I would be happy to recharge my watch a bit more if it means I can see the $$$$ watch 24/7, Wake up Garmin, this has gotta get fixed, and when it does, I will try again. ... show more
