I bought the Lowe's Offset Umbrella YJAF-819R about 10 years ago. The frame is still solid, but the umbrella itself is tattered to the point where it's almost unusable. I didn't want to buy a whole new offset umbrella and hoped I could find a replacement for the fabric. I'm glad I found this, because it is a perfect replacement. While the original fabric is a heavy waxed canvas, this material is a lightweight ripstop nylon. I went with the beige color, which I think is way better than the maroon of the original. The fabric provides good sun protection and I'm very pleased with it. There are no installation instructions, but it took me about 15 minutes to swap the umbrella fabrics. The only tools you will need are a ladder and a 5/32" hex key. Some people said they needed a flathead screwdriver to pry the pockets over the ribs, but I was able to just use my hands (I did not want to risk ripping the fabric). Making the swap is easiest when the umbrella is in the stowed position. First, take the hex key and remove the hex bolt that goes through the umbrella gromet where the umbrella is nearest the sliding handle. Once the bolt is removed, open the velcro and pull the fabric around the square plastic piece that goes through the umbrella, then work your way around the bottom pulling the main ribs out of the pockets. Once the ribs are removed from all the pockets, climb the ladder and unscrew the plastic top cap at the top of the umbrella (it just unscrews by hand as one big round plastic piece). Pull the smaller ribs out of the pockets in the smaller (top) umbrella, then remove the top umbrella. You will then see 8 small elastic bands holding the main umbrella to clips on each of the ribs. The top of the clips pull away from the rib enough to pull out the elastic bands through the top. Once the elastic bands are removed, you can remove the main umbrella up over the top of the frame. To install the new umbrella, put the main umbrella over the top of the frame, connect the velcro and install the hex bolt through the grommet- that will guarantee you that the umbrella is oriented correctly. Climb the ladder and put the elastic loops over the clips at each of the ribs being sure to work your way around the circle so everything is oriented correctly. Then, climb down the ladder to the ground and stretch the fabric to put the ends of the ribs in the pockets. At this point I opened the umbrella all the way to make sure everything fit and was oriented correctly, then I closed it again to install the top umbrella. For the top umbrella, put the center hole over the post at the top of the umbrella and screw on the top cap. Then stretch the fabric to put the ends of the ribs in each of the 8 pockets. Glad I found a place that made just the canopy option to buy without having to purchase a whole new unit as my frame was still usable and in great shape. This comes with both tiers and us just the canopy material. Installation is straight forward and the material fits a little tighter probably because it is new. Material is rip stop and felt lighter than the ripped OEM canopy. The grommet pictured in the item description was missing as stated in an earlier review, but the original canopy taken off was void of a grommet as well ( not a big deal to me). I wish they had different color option for the canopy besides the beige and maroon red ( not listed as an option on Amazon at this time). Happy with my purchase! ... show more

Just received my canopy today and just finished installing it. It took me about 30 minutes by myself to install. The bottom portion was easy. The small top portion is where the trouble is. It will fit if you take your time tug just a bit more than you think. As other people have mentioned it does not deploy all the way out because of the material. For the price point i believe 100 dollars or less is a fair price for this product. Only time will tell if it will hold up but I am already on the fence looking at the stitching on the material as you can see in my photos. It provides shade and fits so I am happy but will not be happy it only holds up for a couple of uses. Will update my review after the summer season is over. ... show more

The only reason I didn’t gave Easy To Install 5 stars is that the top 24” umbrella was very tight to put on. You’ll have to stretch the umbrella to get the pockets over the rods. The main umbrella was easy. To take the main umbrella off, I put the umbrella in the stand, rolled the umbrella up slightly so I could get underneath, unhooked each of the looped elastics on each rod, unscrewed the one bolt that held the Velcro opening closed, rolled the umbrella down and the main umbrella just fell off. The little umbrella is removed by screwing the top cap off and pulling each of the rod pockets off the rods. To put the main umbrella on find the Velcro split and pull the umbrella over the top lining the split up with the rod that has the support arm (pay attention how you took the umbrella off). One by one I attached the elastic loops to the hooks then pulled the pockets over the end of each rod. To put the small umbrella on just put it over the top aligning the hole with the top where the cover is screwed on. ... show more
