Otherwise it was fine. There was very little damage, but more attention to the packaging would have yielded a better result. There was weld splatter inside one of the nuts that had to be removed before it could be assembled.. This needs full assembly, and there was very little identification of fasteners and instructions, which was not too difficult to solve, but could be confusing to some. Overall it is a very weighty and convenient hose reel. It works great and is easy to wind and unwind. The hardware included fasteners for both wood and concrete. We fastened it to the backside of our deck rail so it's out of the way, near the outdoor spigot, but high enough to reach over and unwind enough hose to clean the deck. It arrived in just a couple of days and is accurately pictured and described by the seller.

Easy to assemble and pretty solid. If you have extra hose, it hits the basket. You can get more reel capacity if you remember be it, but that’s a bummer. Otherwise good.

Very cheaply made, mostly of thin metal. Lots of bad engineering here to keep the cost cheap, in particular they made the inner tube that the hose wraps around out of two pieces of stamped metal instead of a solid tube. The two pieces need to be held together with screws at the seams which I can't see holding up over time. Plus the assembly of this product is quite tricky. I've assembled dozens of products and I've never seen one so poorly designed and difficult to assemble. I need to ask for someone to help by squeezing the two halves of the inner tube together in order to secure it, no way one person could do that alone, just a really bad design. Bought two of these and after assembling one, I'm returning the other. I considered just throwing the first one in a box and sending that back too, but we need one now so I'll just deal with it.

It works as it should and looks good, but I’m sure it’ll be rusting because as I was putting it together and tightening the screws, the paint was peeling off! But for the price I paid for it, if it does rust I'll just take it and spray paint it!

We keep our hose inside on this reel during the winter. But we have horses and need the hose on a regular basis during the winter. It is easy to reel out and reel back in through a dryer vent that we placed in the wall for this purpose. Would buy it again and again.
