I don't own a full wetsuit, and I was never a fan of using my shortie, since it made me feel claustrophobic. This neoprene zippered jacket keeps me very warm in the ice cold water while doing water aerobics this time of year. It’s a good fit and great quality and is very comfortable.

    • One star off for inaccurate sizing chart
I was looking for a neoprene jacket to wear snorkeling this weekend so I ordered 3 different ones to try. I like this one; the pattern is nice and the quality seems to be okay for the price. However, one practically needs a Ph.D. in size-ology to figure out what size to order. I'm 5'8", 160lbs, fullest part of my bust while wearing my lightly padded bikini top is 41". So according to the size chart provided in the photos, 3XL is where I land. Nope. This is too big. Probably by one size. Dry neoprene should be pretty snug if you want it to keep you warm. Neoprene stretches when wet and it keeps you warm by trapping body heat and not letting water flow over your body. If you feel water moving under your neoprene, it's too big. Also, I have seen some reviews here and elsewhere that complain that the product does not keep you dry. Those people are insane, don't listen to them. Of the three I tried, this one ran the most snug. The length was good, the proportions are good. I didn't think the wrist was too tight. It's the medium one in terms of quality at this price point. I’m a 5’ 10” and 175 pound guy. I purchased the medium and it is a perfect fit. It is tight when you put it on dry but you can still move freely enough. When you get in the water it immediately loosens up to the point that if I got a size larger, it would rise up from water getting in around the waste. It should feel tight when you put it on dry. Trust me it loosens up. Anybody smaller than me should consider getting the small size because you want the waste to be tight. Otherwise the water will rush in and it won’t do it’s job. Having said that, if you’re just looking for a cool looking jacket to keep you a little warmer at the beach and you don’t care much about the actual wetsuit properties, then I recommend getting a size larger. That way it’ll fit better dry. The rubber smell goes away after you use it in water. I personally don’t mind the smell of neoprene. Smells like a tire shop. If that smell bothers you, maybe don’t get a wetsuit and don’t use coozies. It looks cool. My girlfriend said it made me look athletic, which I’m not. I am however pretty slender. If you have a big belly, this might not fit right. It keeps you warm AND cool. I purchased this for camping because we go on the Delaware river. Some days it’s cool out and it makes me shiver. This jacket keeps you warm and you will immediately notice a different inside and outside the water. At the same time, it keeps you cool in the heat once it’s wet. It blocks the sun and prevents you from getting burnt and retains moisture just enough to keep you cool. I was torn between this and a shorty wetsuit but I’m really glad I went with this. It’s fairly easy to put on and take off. Can be unzippered easily to cool down. And the biggest upside to a wetsuit is you don’t have to pee in it. For $30, this is a great product. ... show more

Runs a little small. Worn during exercise as my “fat jacket” for added stress and sweating. Holding up well so far to at least 25 workouts a month. Zipper is nice and heavy duty.

I can't get into and out of a full wet suit, but this is easy. It is perfect with wet suit shorts. It is exactly what I was looking for to use with sailing in cold Lake Michigan. Everything about it is great. Very comfortable and suitably warm. Good flotation when in the water too. Fit: I am 5' 11'', 165 pounds, with a long back. I bought the Men's top XL and the fit is perfect. The only thing that takes a little getting used to is that it has a women's style (backwards from men) zipper.
