This bench is beautiful! I LOVE it! Those who have trouble with assembly simply need to switch sides with the part and the holes will then line right up. So, if you find the holes do not line up, try another piece and save that one for the other side. I have decided to grow a coral honeysuckle vine on the arch and also have it climb up the side of my two-story deck. If I notice any rust around the screw holes, I will apply clear nail polish or a clear sealant. ... show more

    • Sturdy good looking arbor with bench, but not easy to assemble
The arbor and bench is very sturdy once you get it assembled. It looks great and will be a nice addition to our garden. However, it took me an hour to put it together due to several problems. 1. The included screws are made from soft metal and the heads are easily stripped when tightening. I think that's why they included so many extra screws. 2. Do NOT use a power screwdriver as shown in the video to assemble it. The first screw I tried to put in using a power driver (on a very low torque setting) quickly destroyed the head of the screw. 3. The included allen key (for tightening the screws) is not the right size for the screws. It is slightly too small for the screws which allows it to tear up the screw head if too much pressure is used. You can use it, but you have to be very careful. 4. While most of the holes lined up, a couple did not. To get the screws for attaching the back of the bench to the seat I had to use some long clamps to bend the supports slightly to align the holes enough to get the screws through them. I could have drifted the holes with a drill, but I didn't want to damage the painted surfaces and increase the chance of rusting. 5. There are no parts identification markings on the various pieces. The largest pieces are easy to identify, but the small tubes are not. You have to look pretty carefully at the assembly diagram to determine which piece is which and determine their orientation. A little trial and error could have been avoided if they had simply put some identification stickers on the plastic packaging that each part was in. ... show more

Easier to set up with two people assisting, just to hold bars straight etc. Sturdy, but not super heavy. Tough coating and good hardware. I strengthened the hold with trampoline ground hooks. That helped steady it better. Not strong enough for grandchildren to climb onto. For sitting only!
