I have a 100 year old house which has a 100 year old front door which is an odd size and can't be easily replaced. Cold air seeps through like crazy in the winter. We ate having a warm spell at the moment so I won't know how well it works for awhile. I got the small side door version, and it works really well for keeping out the cold. The material feels durable, and it does a great job insulating. My only gripe is they didn’t include nearly enough pins to properly secure the Velcro strips—it would’ve been nice to have more to really tackle the setup. I did end up using some additional tacks and tape just to ensure the seams were airtight, but the cover performs admirably on its own. For reference I am using this to isolate a low-traffic room which does not have a door. After closing off the vent and sealing the room, we have substantially lessened the load on our heating system... This may have led to some short cycling? Not sure... In any case, we are relying less on the primary resistive heating elements in our electric furnace, and can instead heat one or two rooms with space heaters and live perfectly comfortably. This Magnetic Thermal Insulated Door Curtain fits my door well. We have a small dog door in the bottom of the door, and we have held back the edges of the door curtain around the dog door. What a huge difference this has made in the warmth of the room. Before we installed the curtain, you could walk by the door and feel the cold coming from outside. I know this is going to make a big difference in the power bill. I was afraid that it was going to look industrial, but it really doesn't and even if it did, I think it would be worth it just to keep the room warm. ... show more
