I had no problem fitting 40 lbs of dog food into this container. My dogs food is small pieces. I followed another tip I saw in comments by sitting the container upright with the opening on top at a slant. I dumped some dog food then shook the container so the dog food settled then poured the rest in with the same technique. The entire bag fit. I also had no problem with the 30lb container & a 28.5 lb bag fit just fine. These containers are very user friendly. The sealed lid spins on & off seamlessly, keeping the contents fresh. This is a solid 10, and the fact my very smart Boxer can't get into it, yeah. She gets into everything, including the box with the "Chewy" logo. Really, she can read. But she can't open this! WIN!!! I have 2 of these (I have 2 dogs, but the other one isn't as motivated to eat the boxes that hold bags of dog food), and I suppose that is a win, as well. ... show more

I keep the dog's food in our basement. I had been using Rubbermaid totes for years to store food in. One of the last few bags of dog food started to smell spoiled. I thought maybe it was the tote itself, so I washed it. After it was clean and dry, the food still smelled funky. Figured it was time to replace totes with something air tight. We have 4 dogs, and 3 eat one type of food. I bought two 40 pound containers. The biggest bag I buy is 31.1#. Just today, I filled one with a big bag. It barely fit. I had to fill, shake the container a little, fill, shake and so on. I can tell my next few scoops will be spilling out. I like the container and I like how they can be stacked, but they do not hold what they promote they do. ... show more

I’ve been using the same tall dog food storage container for 5 years and have always hated that it would only hold about 20lbs of dog food so I’d have to fill it up & keep the bag of dog food in my house for refills. My 60lb capacity vault container fits the entire 53lb bag of dog food and there is still room for more! Bonus - it doesn’t take up any more space than my previous container. I've had 2 for years but needed another for a special dog food. 47 lbs of pro plan does Not fit in this. I like that I'm able to stack these but have to do so in a corner cause they shift a little. Even with that I still bought another one because I've been happy how air tight these are.

The only thing I didn't like is the stacking feature. They don't give me a secure feeling that I could maybe stack them 3 or 4 units high. The two that I bought don't seem to interlock all that well. I had purchased two other non stacking units from this company before and loved them, which is why I felt comfortable ordering these. And just like the other two; the CLENLINESS of the container, and precision fit of the screw-on lids is wonderful. They are a little pricey, but you ARE getting what you pay for. ... show more
