good value for a low cost machine, worked well out of the box. after a year it started to leak steam water from the valve when the pump ran, but made offee and steam... so i ordered a replacement.... it came and i fixed the valve leak when the new one arrived and boxed the Galenz as backup. i removed it's top, and levered out the knob cover, then shaft screw and repositioned the inner knob to rotate more before hitting the inner stop. theres a micro switch under the knob for pumping when the valve is closed. The Fix: Shut ff valve. so pry some tabs in the back to get into the knob. then sort of push down on the rubber shock mounted valve to help free the knob innereds to slide off the valve shaft; turn innereds a bit clockwise then start it back onto the shaft, then turn all counter clockwize and get the innereds all the way over thar switch. run a test: valve off, water going to make coffee. hope it runs another year... barely drips now ... show more

Very nice looking espresso machine difficult to operate at first but then gets easier once you understand the functionality. Instructions dont help and not clear at all. Steamer is good but nozzle from espresso dispenser leaks while steaming milk. Steaming and espresso dispenser can not be used at the same time. This unit is a complete disappointment. Honestly we initially purchased it because it was so cute and we were excited to have the capacity to make espresso drinks. Sadly though the unit only produces very tepid espresso. I have trouble shot and watched videos, but the espresso shots are just barely warm. Also, the machine has never produced the beautiful espresso with nice crema like the videos show. I also really dislike that this is a unit you have to watch through the process of making the shot. Essentially I just have to eye what a shot or two shots is and also watch for the water extraction to be more clear then shut it off. When heating up and supposedly building up pressure, the pressure gauge never moves until the middle switch is flipped then the gauge jumps. I don't know if I just got a malfunctioning machine or what, but this is irritating because all I have to go by is when the red light is steady. Another design feature that is disappointing is the very short space between the runoff tray and the extraction spouts. Basically only short coffee, tea, or espresso cups will fit to capture the liquid. The milk frother wand is a disappointment as well. To begin with it shoots out water before steam so I have to start with a pitcher of water or a cup to catch the hot water. Next, the biggest disappointment is that the frothing wand is so short. It makes it challenging to even get the wand below the milk line to froth. Also, the frothing wand has a metal tube that has to be removed and cleaned as well as the inner wand each time it is used. At the top of the inner steam wand the putter tube is held on by a plastic gasket. It just doesn't seem to be a part that will withstand regular use. My last complaint is the grounds baskets. They are sealed but there is a space between the screen and the extraction hole. When I clean it there seems to be weeping. It just seems this too could be an issue over time. Basically this unit makes me sad... It's cute but doesn't work as hoped. I'm sending it back. ... show more

Super cute espresso maker. It doesn't stop pulling shots so you need to self stop it. In addition, the milk takes a while to steam. But other than that, it's a great first espresso maker.

This is a great looking espresso maker. One can even argue, it makes “a” good espresso. The compliments sadly to stop there. Simply put, this espresso maker is not robust enough. I knew something was up when I took it out of the box. Too light. Think “toy espresso maker”. The biggest short fall is the water isn’t hot enough after the first ounce or so. So, if you’re entertaining, and your guests that loved your “adorable little espresso maker” want to give it a whirl, start them off with a good digestif, this will take a while. I want to love this product, but it simply reminds me of my sister’s Little Holly Hobbie Bake Oven (Gen X’ers, you know what I am talking about). ... show more

This espresso machine is adorable and I love how it looks on my coffee bar. If I'm just making espresso for me, it's fine. Warms up and is ready in a reasonable time frame. The problem comes in when I want to make more than one, when I have guests. The first breve is great (although not always hot enough) but it takes a looooooong time to get ready for the second and longer for the third and so on. If your making anything that requires the use of the milk steamer (and I usually am) it takes even longer. The flavor is good, I enjoy my solo experience very much. Beautiful frothy espresso that smells divine. If you plan on having guests and making espresso....this is not the machine for you. I wish I had made a different purchase only because of this ... show more
