Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite kitchen appliance. I bought it to get rid of the air fryer but sadly, this just doesn't cut it, it'll take twice as long and still won't be as crispy as a cheap mini air fryer. That said this thing has made me addicted to pizzas! It bakes while toasting from the top and bottom, incredible! Be warned however that this may not be kid or pet friendly. We went out of town for the weekend and the cats bumped the knob to run for hours while we had the silicone tray in there and we came home to what looks like a dollar short of a house fire, plastic melted and coating the entire inside. Since we have cats we frequently store chips and baked goods inside but subs that indecent we always hold down the screen lock button before leaving it. Something other than a dial and touch controls would perhaps be safer. ... show more

  • I love this oven/microwave!!!
Color: Black Style: Toast Wave
I am reviewing the Galanz ToastWave. Very fast (3-day) shipping by Amazon. I must have bought it on a cyber sale or something, because when I clicked on the link to make a review, the price was $200 more than what I paid. When the huge box arrived, there were a few tears in the box, but the oven was in perfect shape due to the styrofoam it was packed in. I did notice some scratches on the control panel, but there is a clear sticky protective layer on top that was hard to see. Just peel it off and it is beautiful. It is big and beautiful. After I removed my old microwave and toaster, I actually have more room on my countertop now, but I made a little (trial) extension out of wood to slide it over closer to the refrigerator over the gap between the countertop, to give me more room. The hinges of the door are on the left, and it is a good sized door, so if you are mixing something on a small countertop and need to open the door, I had to move whatever I had on the countertop just to open the door. I have tried everything except the Sensor modes (which I don’t understand yet), and everything works great. The controls are pretty easy to figure out, and I really like the functions of the dial. I’ve never used auto settings on previous microwaves or ovens, as I prefer to adjust my own power, temperature and time. The bake “cake” auto setting is pretty accurate on time and temperature, but I prefer to set my own. You can easily fit a 9” x 13” baking pan inside, long-way straight in only, but there is no way to turn off the turntable (except in microwave mode as far as I can tell), so it is always turning underneath the baking pan, which is too long to do a complete circle inside the oven, so the pan gets shifted to one side until it can’t move anymore, but the turntable keeps turning under the pan. The instructions say to use the turntable, so I’m not sure if you can just stick the pan in there on top of the heating elements, but I think not. The manufacturer did say that the oven works best when using the turntable. My brownies turned out great in a 9x13 pan, sitting on top of the turntable, and baked evenly, but I’ll worry about wearing out the top of the turntable by rubbing on the bottom of the pan. A 12.5” round pizza pan fits perfectly inside of the turntable, so I’m going to have to get a few more of those round pans to bake cookies and other things so the pan can spin around. UPDATE 1/7/21: I saw the wear marks on the bottom of my 13x9 pan from the turntable, so that won't happen again. Not a problem for me, but I wish I could turn the turntable off. You can only turn it off in Microwave mode. I now bake 8x8 pans for brownies, and just cut smaller slices. The brownies are a little thicker, and the frosting is thicker, so oh no, poor me. I rarely write a review in the first place, for anything, except to bitch about something. For me to write a follow-up, just means that I REALLY have an opinion. I don't think I can really explain how cool this thing is. I'll try. Once you get the hang of this oven, it will do almost anything. I made convection Pillsbury muffins this morning for the first time, and they came out just beautiful, browned perfectly on top and bottom. Tonight I made meatloaf and acorn squash. Boom. Perfect. I'm not a good cook. I set the timer to what the package said. Ding, Ding Ding, it's done. Get yourself a low wire grate to put onto the turntable (see picture), then put your pan on it. If you want to make a 12" pizza, get a 12" pan with holes in it, otherwise the bottom of the crust is soggy, if you use the pizza setting and a flat pan. The top gets too brown, and the crust is soggy. I have best luck on either "bake" or "Convection". I will never use all of the other automatic options that are available. When I used the broil setting, for making cod fish the other night, smothered in butter, it turned out better than I've ever made in my oven broiler. Just wanted to let you guys know that this is a pretty nice machine. ... show more

Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
I haven’t used my big oven in over 5 years! We bought this model and it literally does everything-MICROWAVE-BAKE-DEFROST-BROIL & AIR FRY! I wore out the last one after five years and just ordered a second. If you’re looking for an air fryer, however, just buy a separate air fryer. I use the air fry function on this to make pizzas because it allows you to set a higher temp than the bake feature. I have a separate air fryer for French fries, etc. We live in Florida and I love that I can use this to cook & bake without heating up the whole house! Don’t hesitate. I’ve done a lot of research comparing the functions of all countertop ovens and this one tops them all! My new one is arriving today and when it dies, I’ll be replacing it with another! • If I was to make an educated guess this unit was designed by people who didn't cook cook
Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
This was entirely over engineered by people who I can only assume never cooked ! . From the dark window where you have to open it to see ,or guess, as to what's happening ,to even shutting your door with your hand in the wrong angle, ,where you may very well make it stop ,or turn on a different function ! Nothing was thought out . No lights to indicate what's working..No way to have any idea if you're making toast if it's browning as white bread, or coal black if it's was wheat bread.. We've all grown up or gotten older with microwaves that have a 30 second feature . In this unit you can't push that button until you've made 3 other steps.,! To make toast it suggests aprox 5 minutes? . And then you'll be adding time as you have no.ides what it's looking like at any of those minute marks because you're opening it up to view it's color . While the food your cooking might have come with suggestions of how long to air fry ,that means nothing to what temp or time you actually need, because they make their own suggestions.. While there's more, here's one last indication of stupidity..Want a suggestion as to how to cook something or buttons to.push? Well it's on the inside of the unit! You can't press a thing or follow that suggestion because you can't place the food inside and follow the suggestion, as you can only read it when the doors open. It's going back not because of it not working .it's going back because it's not a workable unit for those used to common sense ! PS This was written by the house husband who does the cooking as well as ,electrical repair carpentry ,garbage remover etc..(just to give you some idea as to.my.knowledge of how things work or should work) ... show more

  • Update: this device is a total waste of money!
Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
We bought this device due to it having 4 things in one.... BUT it is a jack of all trades master of none, well the microwave is good... We tried the air frier function tonight, we had some panko breaded frozen shrimp. The box only had fryer or shallow frying directions, so I looked online for air fryer directions every where I looked from frozen the size shrimp should take 8 to 10 minutes at 350 or 400. I started the Galanz at 400 and put the shrimp in for 8 minutes... After 8 minutes the air fryer device was hot but the shrimp were still cool to the touch... I added 10 more minutes at 400 and the shrimp were now warn but clearly still raw :-( we looked in the manual and were SHOCKED to see that a 20 oz of chicken wings take 42 minutes, this is 5+ minutes more than in a non convention over for 2 full sheet pans of wings! The closest to the shrimp in the manual is chicken nuggets, 10 oz of chicken nuggets is supposed to take 30 minutes!?!? In almost any other air fryer chicken nuggets should take give or take 10 minutes! How is the Galanz claiming to be an air fryer when it takes as long or longer than a conventional oven to cook food?!?! Air fryers are supposed to use high temp air and a powerful fan to cook food in much less time than an oven. We tried toasting bread in the Galanz and it took 5 to 6 minutes... If you are toasting 5 or 6 pieces this isn't bad if you are tasting less than 4 pieces any decent toaster will do it better and faster. We bought this hoping to save some counter space (toaster, air fryer, and toaster oven) but between the lack luster preference in all but the microwave the Galanz is nothing but a huge expensive waste of space. But the microwave seems to do a decent job, but nothing amazing. UPDATE: After having this unit for 3 weeks now, and cutting up the shipping box :-( we have decided that this device is a complete waste of money! The air fryer function is nothing but a bad heater with a fan, it takes longer to cook items in airfry mode than it takes to bake them in the oven AND NOTHING is crispy. Just like other reviews have said, the turntable design is terrible, if you put anything off center the weight knocks the turntable off the drive mechanism anf the turntable doesn't spin causing hot spots or burning. The taster function is garbage it doesn't work well and is much slower than the toaster oven we are hoping to replace. This is actually our 2nd of this microwave, the first sparked when the turntable rotated... I called customer service and my call was answered by an answering service. I was told I would get a call back in 2 to 3 business days... It has been over a month and I haven't gotten a call back (and have sense shipped that one back to get this one). All in all due to lack of response from customer service and terrible performance of functions I cannot recommend this unit to anyone. ... show more

  • Feature packed but lacks cooking power
Color: Black Style: Toast Wave
The microwave looked large in the Amazon picture, and it was. A sizeable microwave in the box and on the counter. I was not a fan of the styling, at first, but it grew on. The microwave could have been the ultimate cooking device had it the power to cook convect. It took me 80 total minutes to cook three whole chicken wings to my doneness. This is my main gripe with microwave. The are other small annoyances like the touch buttons are super sensitive and the door is so dark it's a little difficult to see how brown the food is getting. Power consumption on the microwave side of cooking was much higher than 1,050 watt input rating. This Galanz model, for the price I paid, could have been the small appliance purchase of the decade. But sadly, using it as an all-in-one cooking device is just a plain no-go. Back to the drawing board to find an all-in-one that can do more than microwave leftovers. 4-stars was a generous rating but I'm a softy and the the unit has the features to make it better than a 3-stars unit. ... show more

  • It was decent but then it set on fire
Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
We enjoyed the bake, toast and microwave functions on this and used it daily. It is a bit bizarre that it only heats to 400 degrees on bake, but to 450 on air fry. In terms of being an air fryer, we thought it was terrible. The food turned out no differently than if it had been baked, but it took twice or three times as long. After having it for slightly over a year (just out of warranty) it spontaneously set on fire. I was roasting waffles for my son when it started to billow smoke from the inside. Thankfully I was standing right next to it and opened it immediately, only to find the top part by the heating element on fire. It was not a small fire, so I’m very lucky I was quick to catch it and extinguish it. I can’t imagine what caused the fire as we clean it regularly and haven’t done anything out of the norm with it. There is now a cracked heating element and our fairly expensive oven is done for. ... show more

  • If OK is good enough, this product is for you!
Color: Black Style: Toast Wave
This combo oven does all the things it advertises ok-ish. The microwave function works closest to its advertised degree. The first issue I had, as did many other reviewers, was that the product arrived damaged. The box looked like it had fallen off of a truck! While that was disappointing, Amazon quickly and courteously replaced the item and returning wasn't too much of a hassle. The second box looked just as beat up but the product had no visible damage. The controls aren't intuitive, but not over complicated. I have never used a stand-alone air fryer so I'm not exactly sure how this measures up in that department, but it takes much longer to cook with this feature than I think it should and the results are still only meh. I will probably use this function, but not often. This is most disappointing as a toaster. I get the best results if I flip the bread half way through the process and it still isn't great. This is too bad as I do a lot of toasting. As an oven, it doesn't quiet get to temperature so plan on that taking longer (or set it higher), too. Finally, the size is such that using this as an oven replacement really limits what you can cook in it. The description states that you can put a 9x13" dish in it. While that is technically true, I wouldn't advise it. It doesn't sit well on the base tray and, because it is too big to rotate, the food won't cook evenly without removing and turning it. I bought this at the price point to determine if I could be sold on the all-in-one-ness of the product. Reviews of higher end items tell me that the old adage is true, you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Greatly disappointed and frustrated.
Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
We had been considering purchasing an air fryer for a while when our microwave went out. Our lack of a microwave caused us to determine whether purchasing another microwave along with an air fryer was preferable to the Galanz microwave/air fryer/convection oven/etc. Because Amazon had a very low price ($299) compared with other retailers ($499+) we felt the product must be worth every bit of the $299. Although the Galanz is a space saving solution, the functions are limited when compared to other stand alone appliances (air fryers and microwaves, as well as the other features it offers). The air fryer temperature selections are very limited and the air frying takes longer than with other units. Personally, I believe that it is because the air fryer does not utilize wire baskets which would allow the heat to circulate better. I have yet to achieve any crispness to the fried chicken. I have been very disappointed with the air frying. I may yet purchase an another air fryer. Toast takes much longer than a conventional toaster. Overall, although the Galanz has many functions tucked neatly into a single appliance I would rather have replaced the microwave with another microwave and have invested in another air fryer/oven unit. Even at the comparatively low price of $299, knowing what I know now, I would never have invested in purchasing the Galanz. I regret my decision and wish I had purchased separate appliances to meet our cooking desires. Update to my former review: I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this product. I would never recommend it to anyone. The air fryer does not produce any crispness. Whether it be fries or chicken, or whatever, it will not produce the desired results. The turntable is very poorly designed insomuch as the rotating device does not consistently link up properly to the turntable. Therefore, pizza gets burnt on one side while not done on the other side. Sometimes it works but most of the time the little drive link does not rotate the turntable as needed for properly balanced cooking. Microwaving is sometimes not available when needed during a meal preparation because after air frying or using the toast or bake features the turntable needs to cool before placing the mat on the turntable to use the microwave feature. This time delay can mess up the timing of a meal. Utilizing a separate microwave, apart from a multifunctional appliance such as this one, is a much better route to take. My wife says "Just throw it in the trash and count it a loss" Believe me, I have come very close to following her advice. If I could get a refund I would invest in a separate microwave and air fryer/toaster oven, but I am stuck with this continual source of frustration. If anyone chooses to ignore my review and forewarning at least pay the additional money for the warranty. I believe you will be wise to get the coverage. If I failed to convey my feelings, allow me to summarize them as being very very frustrated with my purchase. ... show more

Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
Big learning curve on how to use this item, but after I learned, I really enjoyed all the features. However, the Air-Fry feature is nothing more than Convection at 425, so not a real Air-Fryer. The Microwave works, but not very powerful. The Toaster works, but take way longer than a toaster. Broiler, "meh" ... works but not really hot enough. .. After 1 year, my turntable motor stopped working. .. Can't turn off the sounds. .. Can't stop the turntable except on Microwave so some baking dishes can't be used. .. Buttons very very sensitive. I've walked by and turned on the microwave by accident, many times. .. Most notability, there are not combination cooking as others have. The best thing about his unit, is the metal turntable and the heating element underneath it and the buttons and dial are on top of the door. For a tall person, this is great. With a few adjustments, this could be a great unit, but it's cheaply made, not well thought out for the consumer, under-powered, thought it will flip your breaker if you use other items in the same plug! ... show more

Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
I removed a microwave and a toaster oven from the counter next to stove. The Galanz 4 in 1 is bigger than the toaster oven and smaller than the microwave (2.2cf). Only reason so far to knock off 1 star is the VERY steep learning curve. The instructions are very basic and the non programmed cooing menus are sparce. Internet menus do not work for this type appliance. Best thing so far is toast, works fine with programmed cook, bread type doesn't seem to matter. We have done cauliflower and roasted potatoes. Both take much longer than internet recipes say (I'm guessing they are for smaller basket type fryers). If planning on putting next to a wall be aware it vents on the left side. Was great for me. I do wish it came with a gripper to remove the hot frying kit and a better set of cooking instructions or a recipe book. Internet info on using the 4 in 1 is non existent. Is a reaqlly good investment if you also have an over the range Advantium Oven like we do. I see the gas stove oven rarely used in the future as for us electricity is cheaper than propane and less drag on the A/C in the summer. ... show more

  • HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
Color: Stainless Steel Style: Toast Wave
I originally purchased this oven because of its features. It seemed like it could do everything. When the Galanz GTWHG12S1SA10 4-in-1 ToastWave arrived, it was an out-of-box failure. It would not power on, there was no display and therefore it was totally dead-on-arrival. I contacted Amazon and they promptly sent me a new unit. The new unit functioned perfectly for 1 year and 2 months. This unit also had a catastrophic failure in that it was totally dead after heating up a meal. I went on YouTube and tried to find a video on what the problem might be. There were zero videos on this particular unit, but there were some others that indicated that the fuse may have blown. There was no similarity to my unit and those in the videos. I contacted the company on the 800 number provided in the manual and spoke to a representative. They told me that no one was available to help me at the time and that I would receive a return call in about 15 minutes. No one ever called me back. I called them back one week later and advised them that I had not received a call. Since the unit was 2 months out of warranty, they told me that I might be eligible for 50% off a new unit depending on the manufacture date of my unit. I advised her that I did not want a new unit, I thought it may be something as simple as a blown fuse but the owner’s manual made no reference on how to access it. In fact, the manual indicated that if the lightbulb burned out to contact them. My perspective is that something as simple as a blown fuse or lightbulb should have been consumer-replaceable. The Galanz rep gave me the number of the company that handles their service work. I called them and the man I spoke with told me that they generally do not repair the units and just replace them with new ones. It turns out that the unit has security torx screws that the average homeowner would not have. I did have the tool to remove the screws, I ordered a fuse from Amazon, but that did not resolve the issue. A $500.00 microwave should last more than 14 months. There are obviously quality concerns in that my original unit was an out-of-box failure and the replacement unit lasted just long enough to have the warranty expire. It should not matter when my oven was manufactured to be eligible for a 50% replacement. But at $250.00, that is still more than most other microwaves on the market. I am not willing to spend more money on a product that I deem inferior based on its performance. ... show more
