I bought this carbon filter because a YouTuber had recommended it and it was in the posted links in the video. It was one of the lowest priced carbon filters and it works great. With having 4 plants in a 4 X 4 you could stand right outside and not smell a thing. 10/10

i have been using the 4 inch filter on the intake side of a 195CFM (advertised) fan, with an additional universal HEPA filter on the exhaust, & the thing is still scrubbing odors.... TWO YEARS LATER!!! It's pulling such a low volume of air, i haven't had to clean the prefilter. It recently started working a bit less effectively so i removed the prefilter and am about to order a replacement... i figured a 5 star review was only appropriate. I'm not using this thing for anything that generates a ton of offensive odors, so my review is probably a bit bias. I just use it to filter the air in my bedroom, in my bedroom grow tent, which i grow normal plants in, like dwarf umbrella trees, snake plants, palms and whatnot... There's just a lot of data on indoor air quality, I figure, you spend the most time in your bedroom, might as well pamper the air. two years... non-stop for two whole years... granted, I had humidity controlled around 50% and the flow was much lower than the filters rated 210 CFM (fan will not push anywhere near 195CFM with two filters on it). still impressed. ... show more

I bought this thinking it was refillable. My fault for not checking more closely. That’s fine, however it only lasted 6 months before off-gassing, and it’s only used in my basement. No smoking, no grow-room, just a basement.

Bought this and an in-line duct fan with 4” flexible duct in order to filter out smoke from laser engraving wood in my garage. It helped keep the smell down a bit but the smoke still poured the filter. I thought and hoped it would work better to capture the smoke so that I can work with the door closed. Didn’t want to spend a ton on a legitimate fume filtration system as I’m only etching and cutting wood (no plastic or foam that would result in harmful fumes). Despite this not working for my application, the construction of the filter was surprisingly solid! And it reduced the smoke smell. It was a little messy with charcoal residue so be careful handling it over any surfaces you wouldn’t want covered in charcoal dust. ... show more
