This fan works great, I wasn’t sure if I needed a carbon filter but I’m glad I got one. It works very well. The hose that comes with it is really cheap, be careful if you need to cut it. It’s easy to tear. But everything else is good quality. I put mine on a humidity controller because at low speed 24/7 it was keeping my 4x8x8 tent humidity too low, it moves plenty of air. It is pretty quiet on low speed, I can’t hear it over the AC and grow light fans. But a couple extra 4” hose clamps if you don’t have any ducting for the exhaust side. I cut the provided hose in half and used one piece for filter to fan intake, and the other for exhaust. Just didn’t have enough hose clamps for that so I had to buy two more. ... show more

With the 190 cfm fan, the kit easily ventilates a 4' x 6' x 7' greenhouse. Whether or not you call the fan noisy is very subjective. Moving this much air through a 4" aperture makes a sound, and the fan motor is as quiet or more quiet than other electric motors I have heard of this size. It is not as noisy as my 110 cfm bathroom fan. Since the fan didn't smoke when I plugged it in, I have no reason to believe it will not last a long time. The filter filters as advertised. Got this for a 4x4 grow tent. It was easy to assemble but like other have mentioned, you’ll want to pick up another set of duct brackets since you’ll probably use the set they give you hooking the fan to the filter with a short piece of ducking. In terms of operation, the fan seems to move decent air although it’s fairly loud. It can rattle a bit running at its lowest setting with the controller and at its highest setting I can hear it downstairs despite it being set up mid-way down the hall upstairs. Granted I have hardwood floors which may make the sound travel a bit more but I do wish I had researched quieter fans prior to buying this kit. Overall it’s a decent starter kit but I’ll probably upgrade next year if I get more serious into growing. ... show more

Works fine, speed from low to high is significant. It's not silent, but not too loud, especially inside a wall, floor or grow tent. Fits together well, though I had to cut the filter's opening to fit the ducting over it. Keeps two tents with 1200w and 2000w LEDs around 83 degrees on medium speed setting in a room that's about 73 degrees. ... show more

I have been running this setup full blast 24/7 for about a month. Before running my 4x2 grow tent had high humidity and not enough air circulation. Now it is ideal. My only hesitation would be how loud it is. It has a hum that may annoy a room mate, but he'll get over it (I hope)

The ducting they have with item doesn't fit and no clamps to attach the filter. Bottom line if you want a complete kit ready to go this is definitely not that. Had to buy extra stuff to make it work. I have it in a 48x48x80 grow tent does not pull any heat out. It would be an alright fan if you didn't have to spend extra to get it hooked up.
