  • It is a cultivator not a tiller
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
I've been using it for about a year now. I don't leave many reviews but I feel someone needs to clarify what this is. It is not intended for tilling although it will do a fair bit of it if you are patient enough. It is meant for clearing weeds between rows or around plants. The instructions weren't great and I had the torque arms upside down the first time. Thinking that they should go under the battery but they go on top of it. The machine wouldn't attach to my older brushed Ridgid drill because the drills chuck wasn't long enough. It works fine on my new brushless Craftsman drill and on my brushed Hercules. It works great for pulling weeds and mixing amendments into soft soil. I have to run my Craftsman 20v in low heat not because it needs the power but because the tines run to fast and throw dirt everywhere in high gear. I knew it wasn't a tiller but I was so surprised by how well it did mixing soil that I thought I would give it a shot and I was surprised by how well it did even though the ground was still frozen. Like any tool don't push it down let it rev up to speed and let the tool do the work. If you push down on it it will slow down and be less effective. It would take all day and lots of batteries to break up any substantial patch of new ground and it probably wouldn't be very good for the gearbox. I have been using a 2 stroke cultivator for several years and this thing completely replaced it. No more mixing fuel or pulling the starting chord a dozen times just snap a battery on the drill and off you go. It is considerably lighter as well. It has made it's rounds to the surrounding acreages and I have yet to have anyone say anything negative about it. Next spring I'm sure there will be several more of them in my area. The instructions aren't great but if you are intelligent enough to maintain a garden big enough to justify something like this then you'll get it figured out. I'm giving it 5 stars anyway because it performs way beyond what a cultivator is expected to do. ... show more

  • Works great, but…
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
It works great but meant for easy and small jobs. I tried to use it on a big lawn, took me 2 hours to use it. I do not like readjusting the pole that slips off in the center, disengaging the assembly and gear. Overall, fine for small jobs.

  • Works as intended.
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
Liked it at first but it broke after a few uses in well loosened soil. Best I can tell the gears stripped inside. UPDATE : the manufacturer has sent a full replacement at no cost to me. Very easy to deal with.

  • Bad product
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
Doesn't work as directed, hard to put together and will not hold drill on place also gears will not Rotate or will stall Not worth the money or time

  • Ingenious tool but leaves undisturbed soil.ed
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
The unit operated as suspected. The only issue has to do with the soil tines being too far apart. A path of undisturbed soil results requiring extra physical work by needing to do the second and third pass to get a complete till.

  • Better than expected.
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
I purchased this to use in some raised planter beds, it worked great to mix the clean fill dirt with the soil amendments. I also used it to help with a very small in ground garden. I had to break the dirt up first with a shovel and then used this to break up all the dirt clods. Once the dirt clods where broken up, the tiller mixed in the amendments well. I wouldn’t suggest using this to break up hard dirt or large areas. It worked great on soil that is already disturbed and to mix in fill dirt and amendments on raised beds. ... show more

  • Top quality construction
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
I like the fact that it uses my existing drill motor and batteries. I use it to mix compost into my raised grow beds. The ability to shorten the handle was a big selling point.

  • Excellent little garden tool
Style: Soil Tiller Cultivator
I bought this as we are in a new property and there is a rather large garden. Instead of turning the dirt by hand i wanted a small roto-tiller type thing, but the battery operated ones were just to expensive. I saw this and decided to give it a shot. I would like to first state that in the instructions it stated the cordless drill should be brushless, i did not see any where in the description that that was necessary. I don't believe my drill is brushless, but i put it together and gave it a shot anyway. The instructions could have been a little clearer but with a little common sense it was easy to put together. Once together I quickly did one 2 x 8 section of the garden and this ripped through the dirt like nothing. Took up all the weeds no problem. The dirt is now nice and loose and ready to mix some fertilizer and plant my stuff. Im thrilled i can use my Ryoby battery system without spending the 350 for the Ryobi roto-tiller... ... show more
