I have a very small apartment and our living room is oddly shaped with an inset area in one wall. We wanted to fill this area (partially) with a small book case that was big enough to allow for some storage but also small enough to fit in that specific space. To be honest, this book case was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, even after measuring everything beforehand, but it worked out okay regardless. The shelves are definitely cheap, just particle board, but that was to be expected considering the price. Assembly was not difficult but requires the use of small wooden pegs to attach the particle boards to each other, and while putting together one of the sides, one of the pegs completely broke off while inside the hole and subsequently cracked the particle board (a small slight crack) as well. My boyfriend had to go buy a new wooden peg at Lowe’s (I suppose we could have contacted the seller and had them send another one, but they are only a buck or so at any home improvement store and we didn’t want to wait several days or longer for one piece) and used his drill to get the broken peg out of the board. Luckily the crack was in a spot you can’t really see, and he used wood glue on it which made it look good as new, though it was an inconvenience for sure. It would’ve been nice if they included an extra peg or two, just in case. All in all, the book case gets the job done, looks nice, and is surprisingly sturdy. My boyfriend does stone cutting work and collects rocks, and the book case is able to hold the weight of a display case that houses part of his collection. Make sure you’re paying close attention to the measurements before you buy, though, because the photos make it seem much bigger than it actually is. ... show more

ABSOLUTE TRASH

I bought this in an attempt to have a small, cheap shelf under my desk while keeping the same general color. Not only are the dowels far too tiny to actually hold the shelves together while you have to squeeze the parts together while trying to screw the sides, on but the screws are bound to actually punch through the cheapest, third world cardboard-quality particle board that I have ever seen. I've encountered cardboard containers at my old hospital workplace that was more stable than this absolute trash. I decided I had to write this review when I tried to screw on the other side (Step 9) and felt the entire thing shift and snap apart, screws absolutely tearing through the pen-thin board and destroying not just my effort, but any hope at trying to put this together. If you want a cheap option, just buy some plastic shelving. This is crap. Don't buy this. The only reason I'm giving Storage Capacity even two stars is because the three little baskets this came with haven't broken apart or somehow ignited while unfolding them. I can use those, but $40 for three little bathroom-quality baskets is a very steep price. If the Furinno brand ever reads this, know that your dowels and boards are so cheap that you must've made at least $37 profit off of my uneducated purchase. ... show more

This cubby is not very big. The fabric boxes are not the standard size of fabric boxes. Its going in our kids' playroom so we didn't add the backing on because it uses little nails and its a safety hazard for our little kids. It was easy to put together even if the instructions are a little vague. You will want a drill for the screws. Its not what I expected but it will work for the purpose I bought it for. Great buy! I got it to have more room for all of my clothes, but it could probably hold more. It's very sturdy and I'm very happy with this purchase. Would buy again :) One thing though, the instructions were a little bit confusing but I figured it out after just a couple minutes. Cheaply Made

If you are looking for quality this isn't it. I bought 2 shelves. One was scratched in 4 different places and scratched again when I was taking it out of the box. One of the dowels was splintered and another broke in half when I tapped it with the rubber mallet. I got one shelf put together by myself, but then couldn't get the other put together. It is waiting on the floor for my husband to have time to help. I gave it a two because it looks decent after it is together. I am going to cover the top with something so it doesn't scratch though. I may just toss the other one since I live too far from the return center to return it. ... show more
