I snagged this Ring Floodlight Cam when it was on sale, and honestly, even at the full price, it would be worth it. Setup Was a Breeze: Seriously, the setup was ridiculously easy. Since it’s plug-in, you just mount it where you need it, and it hooked right up to the Wi-Fi. It took me maybe 15 minutes total to get it running. Zero Integration Issues: If you're deep into the Ring system like we are, this is the one to get. It integrated perfectly with our doorbells and other cams—it just works with the existing system. Picture Quality is Great: The video is super clear and the color night vision is actually really useful. I attached a photo so you can see the quality for yourself. Peace of Mind: The motion detection is accurate, and having that extra floodlight/camera coverage for the backyard is a huge relief. Bottom Line: Stop thinking about it and just get it. We had some weird activity around our unit and so we ordered this to get to the bottom of it. Seemed like a good choice due to other reviews and we have not been disappointed. You can filter it so that the only activity it reports is people instead of animals that run through. I love the flood light activation at night and how clear the feed is. We've been using it for months without glitching and gaps in the feed. It was also really easy to install.

I can go back and look at my old videos up to six months back which is great. This ended up working superbly, but it was a little stressful to get there. I put this camera up so that we can survey the backyard for critters before letting the dog outside. Despite the fence and lots of hardware cloth, the skunks, possums and bunnies still find their way in. The camera works great, and the lights are excellent. The lights are very maneuverable with the way they swivel. My only issue was getting the light to work with Alexa. I didn't want to leave the motion sensor on or have to rely on that to turn the light on, so it was only useful to us if we could get Alexa working. At first all of the documentation I could find said it wouldn't work, but just before giving up and doing a return I found a solution. I don't remember the exact details now, but I think I had to add the device as a lighting group in Alexa. Works like a charm now.

I bought this because of neighborhood shenanigans after dark. We live in a townhome community with alleyways at the rear of the unit. There have been people breaking into cars all around our area and the camera we had been using wasn't that effective. It had 30 second recordings and most of the time it was catching moths and other insects flying infront of the camera. We've had a ring doorbell for several years and decided it was time to get a better system for the back of our unit, one with more selective recording and with flood lights. I am very pleased with this purchase and we now have good coverage in both the front and back. We did have to improvise with installation, since this camera is for hardwired systems. When I bought this, it included the adapter for plug-in application with a very long cord included. It was on sale at the time and put it in one of my shopping lists for future thought. I jumped at the chance to purchase it on sale.
