With 3 giant dogs, spring mud is an ISSUE… I can’t say that my floors are exactly still sparkling clean after they come in from the yard but dang, it a whole lot better than it was, for sure. It’s very cozy & they like to lay on it. I got the biggest one they make & glad I did. The more steps on the rug, the better. It washes great & holds up in the washing machine as well. My only issue is that it will not stay put. I tried the rug tape but it doesn’t stick to the material. I can’t dock any stars though, it has helped significantly. ... show more

It looks nice, is soft, washes well, and mostly stays in place. I use it as a feeding mat for my dog, because he's older and can be unsteady on his feet. It works for this purpose. He seems to feel stable on it. However, when he walks across it, it often bunches up like a blanket might. It needs repeated straightening throughout the day. Because it bunches up, I don't recommend using it in a high-traffic area. The bunched fabric could potentially cause someone to trip, and when it's bunched up it also looks untidy, like a blanket or towel thrown onto the floor. Yet, as I said, it works well as a feeding mat. There are also other uses that are recommended on the packaging, such as a car seat cover, which it might work well for. Lastly, it's important to note that while the "Furhaven Pet Dog Bed Mat" does seem to do well at trapping dirt, it can't handle spilled liquid. For instance, if a dog knocks some water out of a water bowl, then it's going to immediately soak right through the mat down to the floor below. Although the product info says it's water-resistant, I found that any spills need to be handled immediately, because even a small one will cause pooling beneath the mat. **** Dec 2020 EDIT: If you have a top-loading washing machine, then I don't recommend this! I used to have a front-loading washing machine, with no agitator, and this Furhaven blanket mat washed just fine in it. However, the mat retains so much water that it's terrible to try to wash in a top-loading machine! In the top-loader, I couldn't get the laundry load to balance, no matter how hard I tried. My washing machine was bucking despite being on the appropriate, "bulky items" setting. I wound up having to remove the mat from the washing machine, taking it into the shower, and then stamping the rest of the water out of it. It seems as if spills can go through the mat onto the floor when it's laid flat, thanks to the grid-like, weaved base, which is holding in the tassel-like fibers. However, when spinning around in the washing machine, then those fibers themselves can absorb a LOT of water. It was ridiculous how heavy this thing got -- trying to drag it into the shower was a chore. ... show more
