I used this as a cat litter enclosure because the only place I could put my cat’s litter was in my room (and I obviously didn’t want to look at it or smell it), and real cat litter enclosures are SO EXPENSIVE. This has worked great for my cat. He can easily get through the door and still has room to stand while going to the bathroom (my cat is an average size like 10 lbs). This thing is also super sturdy! I’m 6’0” and weigh 160lbs and it was able to hold my weight. This is more than perfect in a sense of what I was looking for. I wanted to find a little dog house bed for my pug that wasnt obnoxious to look at and she'd fit in. She's an average sized pug but all the little cave houses I could find were either way to small (usually for cats) or a fortune. But I was determined to find one suitable. She loves being in small spaces and sleeping under blankets so I thought it'd b cute to buy her a little indoor dog house. I initially ordered the smaller size but she wasn't interested so I instantly ordered the bigger size and it was perfect ! The bed insert is really soft and it's adorable to see her go in it for a comfort zone. The only thing is the door on the big one is smaller than the doorway on the smaller one. I ordered this hoping my two cats would fit. They do! The part of the house where they stay gets pretty chilly at night in the winter. It does not come with any padding on the bottom. I ordered the Furhaven Self-Warming Pet Mat (basically a Mylar and foam insert) for the bottom and placed it in between the layers of a folded up a fluffy, lap-size blanket. They love it. They've gotten bigger so I just ordered a second one. The ottoman is constructed just like those fabric cubes for organization, but instead of cardboard, the sides are much thicker and rigid. It's great as a foot stool or use as a table by topping it with a big serving tray. I would discourage anyone from sitting on it though. ... show more

My cats love their new cat house and it serves a dual purpose as both a hidey-hole for them and a foot ottoman for us humans in front of our love seat. It came in a flat plastic package, which as soon as I cut it open, I popped the ottoman walls up, put the faux fur-lined flooring down, set the lid on top and it was ready to go! The walls are not super sturdy, so I definitely wouldn't recommend letting kids jump on it or a heavy adult sitting on it for too long, but it's great as an footstool and my ten year old (who weighs about 70 lbs) sits on it and plays with the cats. One question I had before I ordered it, was what is the actual color of "Ocean Blue"? I received several answers from other owners and the store owner. Some said it was more like a denim blue and only a few said closer to turquoise. I was actually looking for something that was more aqua blue in color, so I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I can tell you this is definitely not denim (cornflower blue), like some of the pictures appear to show. It is in fact a bright turquoise blue color, which I wish was a little more muted, but over all it serves it's purpose and blends well enough with the other teal and aqua accents in the room. ... show more

    • A wonderful ottoman and kitty hidey-hole

This is actually the second one of these ottomans that I've purchased, and I had the first one for over 5 years. It was still perfectly functional, but one of our cats decided that it was a better scratching post than her actual scratching post was, so it was looking pretty rough by the time we decided to replace it. We were going to just reupholster the original but pricing upholstery made us decide that it would cost about the same amount to just buy a new one. The old one is now in the garage being used for storage. The ottoman is very quick and easy to "assemble" (there's no actual assembly is necessary, you just fold it open, insert the bottom piece, and pop the lid on), very roomy, and a comfortable place to rest your feet. There's a decent amount of padding on top and the ottoman itself is made of upholstered plywood, so very sturdy. I weigh more than 170 pounds and can sit on it with no problem. The interior is roomy enough and the entryway big enough that even our maine coon can enjoy a nap inside, and the soft, padded bottom is removable to make cleaning easier if necessary. Since this is my second one, it probably goes without saying that it's a product I would recommend, and I'll probably end up getting another at some point if my cats trash this one. ... show more
