This bed comes in two boxes and totals around 140lbs between the two. However, everything is clearly labeled, comes with a complete packing list (with extras of almost every small part, just in case) and has detailed pictorial assembly instructions. The instructions are almost exclusively pictorial, so if you are looking for explanations with the pictures, you are largely out of luck. It took me about 4 hours going step by step to put it together from the time I opened the first box until I laid down on it. I purchased the fold up memory foam mattress to go with this and it all fits together splendidly. So far, based on relative ease of assembly, appearance, and how surprisingly sturdy it is, I have to give it 5 full stars. If I come up with some major deficiency down the road, I will try to come back and edit my review, but for now, looks like a great purchase! ... show more

This bed frame is very nice. Takes awhile to put together so make sure to do it on a day you’re not busy. Comes with instructions easy to understand, if confused you can refer to the store page tutorial video. I recommend getting a comforter cover for any foldable mattress. They are comfy but not as comfy as your traditional mattress. All in all it looks great and I love being able to store my bed away and gain alot of space. ... show more

My husband and I were extremely happy with this bed, from the packaging, to assembling it and the final product. The Murphy Bed came in 2 boxes. One box was damaged during shipping, but because everything was wrapped in styrofoam, nothing was damaged. All the parts were clearly numbered, the boxes came with a list of parts for each box, the cabinet was in Box 2 and the Murphy bed was in Box 1. Assembly took 6 hours for my husband, it is not hard, just time consuming. Everything was clearly marked and the instructions were easy to follow. It can be assembled with just a screwdriver, but my husband did use his drill for some of the larger screws. Everything lined up for the screws and the edges match up perfectly. The screws, fasteners and dowel pegs make this extremely stabile and sturdy. The quality is excellent. An additional surprise was the size of the attached drawer, large enough to accommodate 2 pillows, a blanket and sheets. The Murphy Bed looks like it came from a furniture store. ... show more

It’s so sturdy I researched and read review after a review and went back-and-forth between multiple items. I ended up picking this bed although it didn’t have a review on somebody who used it as an actual bed not just as an occasional one. I did make the purchase I’m happy to say that my husband and I utilize this bed every single night and also pick it up every single day. It’s very easy. Prep time takes no more than 2 minutes put away is just as easy and quick. It’s extremely comfortable. The mattress is not that of a normal bed bc it is a tri fold 5inch camper mattress. A simple bed topper makes it a whole lot better. If u r somebody who has to use a living room as a multipurpose room this is the purchase that is totally worth it. Don’t hesitate to buy. I would definitely give it more than five stars if I was able to. Just so u know how honest I’m being the only negative thing that many reviews also say that I will agree is it does take forever to put together lol definitely invest in a power screw gun. It looks good it sleeps two grown adults I’m on the heavier side of 180 and the husband is 220 and had back surgery 10 yrs ago and he sleeps like a baby so truly I can say enough. One piece of advice make sure you put together near where u wanna place it it’s solid and heavy and needs a permit home bc the shifting side to side will not extend the life of the furniture. It does come in two gaint HEAVY boxes so plan accordingly mine where outside in the front yard the driver left them in the middle not near my door but my son was home so he got gem inside but the boxes are like 100lbs each at least I think they r close to that. I waited to leave a review until the bed was actually used. We purchased it for guest and they said it was a very comfortable. It took quite a few hours to assemble by myself, but that was expected. I had a component parts issue but it was resolved. I would recommend this bed.
