Easy to install, and definitely makes the water taste better. You do want to make sure you run a good bit of water just after replacing them (as directed,) but as long as you do that, you're good to go. I change mine every six months and drink a TON of water. This has helped me use way less plastic bottles. As this is the generic replacement for the original, It was a bit of a no-brainer to order this Great water pressure and the water is much better than what comes out of the faucet. Tastes great. My only compliant is the price, these are basically a bit of a rip-off, just like printer ink is. Price aside, you cannot go wrong with these filters... ... show more

THE ENVELOPE CAME EMPTY. A REPLACEMENT FILTER CAME THE NEXT DAY, BUT THERE IS NO ORIGINAL FILTER FOR ME TO RETURN BY SEPT 7TH AS REQUESTED IN THE RETURN INSTRUCTIONS. BUT THE SECOND REPLACEMENT FILTER HAS BEEN RECEIVED AND INSTALLED AND ALL IS FINE.

this is the second time I have replaced the filter in my refrigerator - the first time I bought it directly from Frigidaire but this time Amazon it was a little cheaper but the real savings was the free shipping with prime. Works perfectly.

    • Watch out for the spatter. But a must for clean water.
Replacing a water filter is a necessary evil if your fridge has a water line built in. Keeps your ice flavorless, and your water flowing. Note, when you first put in the filter and have to do the 1.5 gallon purge of water, at first there is some air in the line and it can spatter out. So be prepared to get a little wet. Otherwise you'll be set to go for ~ 6 months until the next change. ... show more

    • Beware of the extra ridge!
First, this filter is shorter than the one I replaced, so I assume with less overall filtration surface the replacement won't last as long as the last one (which made it about a year). This particular replacement was cheaper than other options, so I assume this is why. I want to emphasize that this listing came up as an exact match for my Frigidaire Gallery. Next comes the key intel besides just the unit size... Secondly -- remove the filter you are about to replace. On the top you will see a square ridge that runs the length of the filter - its even visible while it's installed - think of it as rail guide so you slide the filter in properly. If you see a SECOND narrower ridge beside this one - then the filter listed here is right for you. If there is NOT a second guide, you need to find one with only the one main guide. I had to file that second ridge down with a hand file (10 minutes worth of filing) and this filter then slipped in no problem. I hope this helps others avoid this little surprise. Or, maybe you don't mind applying some "elbow grease" and want to go for the cheaper option. But be advised. ... show more
