Frigidaire has done a nice job with this cooktop as it functions well while having a heavy duty "professional" appearance. The top grates standout as a cleanly designed level surface with each having plenty of iron mass. The burner knobs have a nice smooth tactile resistance as you rotate them to the lite (ignition) position and then adjust the desired flame size. As well, each burner's flame can be adjusted from its full rating down to a barely visible size accommodating maximum cooking control. Although, note that the gas supply can be adjusted by means of a "trim" screw that exists within the stem of each control valve. However, in my case no such action was required since the factory setup met the installation instruction's flame performance requirements. Also, it's nice that the control knobs are setup on a sloping front panel. For spills and clean up purposes this is far better than the flat or deck mounted control knobs of many other cooktop brands. As well, the front mounted control knobs do not take up space on the surface of the cooktop, allowing for a wider spacing of the five burners. The BTU rating of the burners is sensibly balanced for home cooking purposes with the 18K center burner easily handling a 7 - 8qt Dutch oven. The center burner is a single flame ring whereas some brands offer a dual flame ring. I think this accommodates wok cooking utensils(?). The knob backlighting is not a unique feature, but the white light shows up well for easy monitoring. The knobs are removeable, but not dishwasher safe. The cooktop installs easily, but Frigidaire provides only the bare minimum of installation hardware. In fact, what was supplied would not work with my cabinet construction. Luckily the mounting hardware from my old cooktop unit would work with the Frigidaire cooktop. A frustration, but not worth knocking off a star. ... show more

For $700 I think this 36 inch wide cooktop is an excellent value. Its not a high end, super fancy cooktop, its a basic cooktop. It has one large burner in the middle, one med/large burner front/right, two med burners on left and one small burner back/right. The stainless deck is not especially thick metal so the unit feels a little on the cheap side when you go to install it, but its perfectly adequate. Now the grates on the other hand are super beefy and give the unit a high quality look. All 5 ignitors worked and all the burners have adequate control range from full blast down to simmer. It comes with a new pressure regulator valve and its factory jetting for natural gas (and includes propane jets). My original gas flex hose fit fine. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. Now the installation was another story. My old cooktop was a 36" Dacor, it lifted out easily enough. However I soon discovered that although the counter top cut out width (left to right) was OK, the front to back depth was too narrow by about 1/8 of an inch. Not only that neither the front nor back cut out was straight. This was the fault of whoever built my house 30 years ago, not the cooktop's fault. It took me about 2.5 hours using a rasp to remove enough of the plywood and tile grout to allow it to drop in. I must have lifted it in and out a dozen times, each time removing a little more plywood and grout, etc to get this unit to fit, but it fits perfectly now. ... show more

Sleek and modern looking. The burners are fairly easy to clean. However, liquid got in under the knobs and was a nightmare to clean!!! For that reason I give it 4 stars. I also wish there were more large burners. One time we had a constant clicking from the spark on the burners, but after watching a youtube video, I was able to fix it so hopefully it will not be a recurrent issue. Overall, for the price, a great stove top and we're pleased. We cook a lot and wanted gas. My husband switched out our electric stove, and this one has been a huge improvement! ... show more

Cooktop GCCG3648AS This is a replacement for an older Frigidaire unit that has been discontinued. Installation was easy. The new unit came with the LP conversion kit and only took a few minutes to install. The cooktop looks great. I was amazed at how much heat each burner puts out, it’s much noticeably better than my old unit. The backlit knobs are a nice feature to quickly identify which knob(s) are on, especially for someone with poor eye sight. I particularly like the fact that you can adjust the flame height via a set screw in each knob. The factory setting for the low end (simmer) was a little bit high for my liking. I was able to tweak the flame at the low end. Now it’s perfect for me. The grates sit higher than my last unit too which I like, it gives it a better look. I am very happy with my purchase, the shipping was fast and packaged well. I highly recommend it. ... show more

This thing is legit, super nice and high quality. Easy install. I had to buy a 3/8" elbo and a 6 inch extension to get the regulator towards the back of the unit a little farther since I had drawers that would hit it if it stuck straight down like it would have if I had not bought the parts to move it. Other then that all that was needed was with the unit including propane conversion kit which worked perfect. All and all it took me about an hour to install it. Works as expected and looks better then expected. Buy this unit and be happy. ... show more

We purchased this cooktop when our 30 year year old model had reached it’s end. The Frigidaire is very well made, everything is metal or cast iron. The burners have every size one would need.
