    • Great at First, but Failed Quickly — Warranty Process Has Been a Nightmare
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to love this ice machine. I purchased it on February 20, 2025, and for the first several months it worked great and made excellent nugget ice. Cleaning the machine occasionally helped with some minor noises, but by late October, the auger itself started making a loud grinding noise — and cleaning did not help this issue at all. The auger noise became constant and made the machine unusable. I contacted the warranty company on November 4, 2025, submitted all the required documentation, and was told to ship the unit to them at my own expense. Return shipping cost over $100, but I sent it in on November 11, 2025 hoping the warranty process would resolve the problem. On November 14, 2025, I received an email saying the replacement request was approved and “processing,” with an estimated 2–3 week turnaround. Since then—nothing. No updates. No responses to emails. No answers on the phone. It has now been over 6 weeks since we’ve had a working ice machine and over a month since the unit was shipped back, with no sign of a replacement. We followed every step of the warranty process, paid out of pocket to ship the defective unit, and still have no resolution. For a machine at this price point, failure within months and a completely unresponsive warranty department is unacceptable. Very disappointed and cannot recommend. ... show more

I got this in Sept 2024. Initially very satisfied. Unit worked great, loved the ice it produced. A definite 5 star product. But then..... In April 2025, We went to visit family and were gone for about one month. We cleaned and drained the unit. Unplugged it and left. Upon our return, the unit would not work. All water poured into reservoir would Immediately drain into overflow basin, and no ice would be produced. I sent video of malfunction and all other required information to Frigidaire warranty office. They replied with instructions to return the item to them (at our expense)!!!! $78 per USPS!! I cleaned it again and it started to work so I did not send it in. ( my thought was I had not drained it thoroughly enough and some water had caused a valve to stick open from non-use). It worked perfectly until the end of MAY 2025. It was in constant use during this time, by constant, I mean 24/7!!! Then it started draining again and not producing ice. At this point according to the instructions sent me by the warranty office, if it doesn't meet their criteria for warranty, it can be sent back to me (at my expense)! ... show more

I bought this because it is a brand I have used for 50 years or more. I won’t make that mistake again! I loved the ice it made and I followed the instructions about how to clean it and use it but one morning about 2a.m. It started squealing like a stuck pig. I unplugged it and cleaned it again the next morning. But it won’t make ice anymore. Now I can’t get online support for it and it actually will not even stay powered on anymore. I didn’t buy a warranty because I trusted the brand. Great when it works but now an expensive dead weight! Be careful. ... show more

I love this icemaker. I bought a GE Opal, for over twice the price, but this one is just as good. Nice, chewable ice, and easy to operate. Clean it every month or two, and you'll love it.

    • It’s cheaper to buy bagged ice than to buy a machine that will only last 6 weeks.
It worked great, until it stopped working at about 6 weeks. I reached out to Frigidaire to figure out what the next steps would be to get it fixed. Unfortunately, they don’t actually deal with the warranty, it’s farmed out to Curtis, which they only deal with claims via email. It took them 5 days to acknowledge my email, I missed one step out of the 7 that they ask for (clear pictures of the serial numbers, front and back pictures, a video of the unit and what it’s doing, etc) so they responded back for the missed step and then it took them another 5 days to tell me I have to package it and ship it at my cost to their warehouse where they will then decide if I’m going to get a refund or a repaired one and then they’ll “shoulder” the cost of shipping. Original claim was filed 8/8. As of 8/21 I told them I’ll take a refund or a prepaid shipping label. I would never buy this machine again. Shame on Frigidaire for putting their name on something with a company who has crap customer service/return policy for an item that was so poorly made that it didn’t even last a full 2 months. ... show more

    • Great ice maker, but machine doesn’t keep the ice cold like a freezer
The machine makes great chewable ice. Perfect for people who have taken up a hobby in espresso latte making etc.. it makes the ice fast, but the machine doesn’t have the option to keep ice frozen for a long time. It’s not a freezer, but just an ice maker. First time I made it I had it on all night and I assumed the ice would stay cold but I woke up to it being completely melted. So I knew it’s not for long term. I had people over and i was regularly using the ice machine and it was great! The ice was being made fast and it wasn’t melting fast. Great for hosting ... show more
