It works pretty well and blows a lot of cold air. I keep the fan on low and it's not to loud but it is a little noisy but not that bad. I bought this for my master bedroom and also as a backup to my central air for those super hot Florida days and nights. At $269 I have to say it's a bargain "if" I get a few years out of it. Time will tell. I sealed all the cracks and bought better insultion for inside and outside the window opening. Its pretty air tight and I would suggest you take your time and do a thorough installation. Overall I'm pretty happy with it after 2 weeks of ownership. I am sure you could spend a lot more money for fancy bells and whistles but this unit pumps the cold air and thats all I wanted it to do. ... show more

We installed this unit in our finished attic. It was very easy to install. Took 2 people but we completed it in about 20 minutes. It's about 350 square ft. It cools the entire space pretty quickly. We've struggled with other units before and so far this one is looking to do the job!! We've had a couple days in the 90's recently and it kept the space at a comfortable 70°. I'll post an update if anything changes but we're very happy with it so far. ... show more

This window AC was super easy to install with a little help, and cools our not-very-well insulated upstairs very effectively. I didn't realize how poorly the old one was working until replacing it- it's excellent! So cool, even when we have all the shades open to let in the Florida sunshine. We have a large walk-in closet and a bathroom that the air flow is sufficient to cool. I like the remote control that it comes with, also. The filter is easy to clean. Shocked at how poorly this works. Brand new out of the box—lowest temperature and highest fan speed, you can’t even feel it from a foot away. Barely manages to bring the room temperature down a degree.

As other reviewers have remarked, I was somewhat surprised at the noise level of this AC unit, but otherwise very pleased with the cooling capability. I bought a 10,000 BTU unit, even though the 12,000 BTU was recommended for the 675 sq ft of open space in my main level. But I am managing with 10,000 BTU quite well. I was hesitant to buy a replacement AC this late in the season, but I am glad I did. We are facing the hottest week of the summer in September and this Frigidaire cools everything beautifully.
