After using this stove for a month and through a holiday with lots of candy making I can honestly say this is a great stove top. It heats evenly and steadily. Stayed at a steady temp the entire time for making peanut brittle. Ive simmered food, reheated food. Cooked food. Pan fried food. This cooktop heats and cooks well. The cleaner that comes with it is junk. See photos for the brand cleaner that seems to work best. It cleaned up well with the write cleaner and polish. I did need a plastic scraper to help but had no issues getting it cleaned as some reviews mentioned. These photos were taken a little over a month of owning the cooktop. The only issue for me is my old cooktop made a noise while the burner was on. This one makes ZERO noise except for the occasional click of it cycling on and off. Because I was used to the noise of my old stove making me aware of the burner being on AND the off of my old stove is the medium heat position of this stove I have accidentally left it on 3 or more hours twice! But that is just something I’m gonna have to get used to. Amazingly the cooktop did not over heat or have any issues being on that long. Another issue I had with my old cooktop was that it would reduce the amount of heat at an individual burner if you turned on multiple burners. That was so frustrating! Thankfully this cooktop DOES NOT do that. All burners heat evenly no matter how many are on. It was easy to install in the same spot of the old stove with fairly decent instructions and a little diy skill. Btw… I do feel a little concerned about the $150 price drop since we purchased! Would be nice to get a portion of the difference back! Big families need to save every penny they can! ... show more

    • Do Not Buy On Amazon....
Better off going to a store and avoiding the hassle. This item came with 1 burner not working. I have had nothing but trouble trying to get it fixed by Frigidaire. The part to fix is not available and on back order. It has been 1 month now, mind you I bought this new, notified Amazon and Seller 1.5 months ago and have been waiting for them to fix for over a month. I was sold a defective item.... and the seller keeps sending me to Frigidaire to resolve. This is simply not acceptable. I even bought the insurance! FRAUD... THEY SAID I CAN RETURN THEIR ITEM IF I PAY THE SHIPPING!... YOU SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE ITEM! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!...3 MONTHS LATER... NO RESOLUTION. Manufacturer nonresponsive, the insurance I got through amazon says to go through manufacturer so what a catch 22 and nightmare. I may need a small claims lawyer next....5 months later... no resolution... why would you buy this ... show more

    • Fits the space of old 36 inch electric cooktop and works fine
I spent days looking online and in stores for a new cooktop when my old 48-year-old electric coil cooktop finally died. I settled on this cooktop. It arrived quickly, and was well packaged, and had no damage. I had it installed 4 months ago and am happy with it. The only negative is that it has two small burners in the two front spots. It would be a better design if they had a small burner on one side in the front and a medium burner on the other side in the front. For things where you have a larger size pan in which you are cooking something that needs stirring, like scrambled eggs or sauce, it is inconvenient to have to reach to a back burner to do the stirring. Also the 5th burner in the center with two sizes is really too large in both sizes for most pots and pans. It looks like it is more for a restaurant with huge pots. The other negative thing , but it would have been true for any cooktop I saw, was that I had to get a new 50 amp line run into my house with its own fuse box. That made getting a new cooktop quite expensive. I wish they still made the old coil cooktops without all the fancy things like quick boil that require the added amps. For those who may have worries whether this will fit in an old opening, my old opening was a little bigger than they recommended but smaller than the dimensions of the cooktop. I took a chance and it worked out fine. They provide two brackets for you to put on the underneath side of the counter to give the cooktop extra support. Because my counter was thin, the brackets extended below the cooktop and so would not have given extra support. But I found some things in a toolbox that filled the space between the bottom of the bracket and the cooktop. (One filler was an old lock from a locker). I also bought 4 more brackets at the hardware store so I would not have to worry at all about support all around the cooktop.. Another big worry I had ahead of time was that the power cord would interfere with a drawer under the cooktop. The specification picture makes it look like the cord is on the side, but it is actually far back, which I wanted. It would have interefered a little with the drawer but I found a hook to hold the cord against the back wall behind the drawers and so the fit is perfect. ... show more

    • Good cooktop, but scratches easily
It's a good electric cooktop, heating is kind of slow, but I'm comparing it to my old induction cooktop, so that may not be a fair assumption. However, the first time we used it, the burner showed cooking marks on it, which won't come out. I imagine it's going to look like 20 years old in just a few months. My induction, after over a year, still looks new. Guess it's the type of glass they use. I may return it because of this. I just don't think it should mark up that easily for an $800 cooktop... ... show more

So far works great!! I have a house built in the 70’s so had to have electrician run bigger gauge wire and a bigger breaker, which was not cheap!!! But this is a great cooktop!!!!
