abunda_amazon_reviews I wired two Cree 18W fixtures and a pair of Kawell 18W work lights with two harnesses replacing the switches with DayStar illuminated rocker switches. I'd upload it as an additional photo but this listing won't let me. Communication with the company was great! They responded very quickly. Unfortunately, once I got the wiring all completed, I pushed the switch and...nothing! I was so bummed. I first made sure the lights worked (used wire straight to battery). I bought a different switch beforehand since the one in this kit looks a little ridiculous, which isn't a problem since the switch isn't hard wired into the harness so no cutting or splicing necessary. The wiring diagram that comes with it was easy enough to read. A word of warning though for people like me who have little to no experience with switched relays... trust the wiring diagram. I set this up on a spare battery in my house to give me more room for error while I learned how to properly wire everything up before installing on my truck and good thing I did. It was a lot easier to see what I did wrong the first time and to correct it, as well as put out the small fire I started by not following the diagram. All is well though. I only destroyed the 18 gauge wire between the battery and the switch and none of the actual harness had to feel the brunt of my mistake. Unless you've got a power source to tap into inside the car, the wire that comes with this kit isn't long enough to span the distance between the switch and battery. Not a big issue considering spools of replacement wire are cheap and plentiful and chances are if you're installing a harness and light system, you're probably planning to do some level of custom wiring anyway. In the end (when wired correctly), this harness has absolutely no issues powering a single 120 watt 20" LED light bar and it correctly lights up the little LED in my switch when the system is turned on as well as turning the switch LED off when the system is turned off. By my math, I'm pulling about 15 amps through this for a 180w light bar at 12v. One of the wires came out of the clip that plugs into the relay. Had to take it apart and solder it back together. Works fine now, no excessive heat at that power draw. I would not put any higher amp load on this wire though. I have the double lead version, though I'm only using one lead and removed the other. I tapped into existing Vcc and Gnd under the dash for the switch, so only the relay and output wires to lights (and input to relay) go near the battery box. If I had to do it over again, i'd get something a little heavier duty. HOWEVER: For those complaining about wire guage, all load-side wires match in guage to what is on my light bar. I'd guess 14 guage. Switch side wires are indeed much smaller, probably 18 guage. But that's the point of the relay - the switch does not have to carry the load, just toggle the relay which carries the load. If you plan on powering a larger light bar in the 25-30amp range, you need bigger wires. 10 to 12 guage. Buy a heavier duty kit.

Not made to last. Switch and relay went bad within 10 hours of use
When i first installed this wiring harness it seemed to work with no problems. I used it to control 18w LED flood lamps that I installed on my ZTR lawnmower. I store my mower inside and normally just blow it down after use instead of washing. After using the lights for about 6 hours of use, I went to turn them on and only got a flicker from the lights. I did some troubleshooting and found the switch to be badly discolored and not conducting while in the colsed position. After replacing the switch the relay started chattering then shorted on the coil side, not the load. Since the relay does not have a standard pin configuration, I now have to replace both the relay and the relay socket. Basically the only good parts are the wires and connectors.
