  • WORKS GREAT!! read for wiring help!!
Used this on my 2005 Jeep wrangler TJ for windshield mounted LED lights. Works like well. Mine was shipped without the male disconnects but the company was more than willing to send them to me quickly along with a wiring diagram. It helped but I ended up wiring them myself anyways. Heres what I did... There was a nice screw between my battery and fuse box (actually the screw for the fuse box mount). This is what i mounted my relay to and the very short ground wire to as well after I sanded down to bare metal. Then I took the three wires (white, red, black) that are attacked to the white clip for the switch and ran them through the firewall. I grounded the wire (the black one) from that white clip to a screw located where the strap for the door connects so it doesn't fling open and hit the fender. I took the positive (red) wire from the white clip and attached it to the positive battery. The other red wire from the relay that has the fuse halfway along the wire and also attached it to the positive terminal. I hooked up my lights (white = positive, black = negative). Plugged in the switch.... clicked the switch... and there ya have it!!! not bad for a 19 year old that had no idea what was going on.. Note: If you plan on using that switch till it breaks, I recommend finding a wire that is only active when ignition is on. Then take the red wire from the white clip and attach it to that. That way that annoying bright red LED isnt on at all times when your car is just sitting there... Also, I noticed that for my use, this harness cut it awfully close to being too short. I only have about 2 maybe 3 inches of the white clip sticking through the firewall. I had a hard time finding a good location for the ground and I have the relay less than an inch from the battery. I had enough wire to reach my windshield lights but any farther away and I would have been doing some wire splicing.... YES the switch does kinda suck. I actually just orderd an aftermarket OEM zombie lights one for my TJ to replace this one. It does however do the job, but you can feel how cheap it really is. I only used this harness to test my lights so far (10 minutes on or so) since my brackets haven't come in yet, but I dont see any trouble with it after some use. Note 2: I did hear a hum come from LED lights when they were powered on, but that probably is just my circuit board in the lights and not the harness. $26 for the pair of 27watt round spots on ebay... great deal.. i will deal with the hum.. I will try a different ground put i'm pretty positive it is my lights. Will update if anything goes wrong ... show more

  • Great wiring harness, especially for the price.
This kit comes with everything you need to wire up a light bar. I bought a different switch beforehand since the one in this kit looks a little ridiculous, which isn't a problem since the switch isn't hard wired into the harness so no cutting or splicing necessary. The wiring diagram that comes with it was easy enough to read. A word of warning though for people like me who have little to no experience with switched relays... trust the wiring diagram. I set this up on a spare battery in my house to give me more room for error while I learned how to properly wire everything up before installing on my truck and good thing I did. It was a lot easier to see what I did wrong the first time and to correct it, as well as put out the small fire I started by not following the diagram. All is well though. I only destroyed the 18 gauge wire between the battery and the switch and none of the actual harness had to feel the brunt of my mistake. Unless you've got a power source to tap into inside the car, the wire that comes with this kit isn't long enough to span the distance between the switch and battery. Not a big issue considering spools of replacement wire are cheap and plentiful and chances are if you're installing a harness and light system, you're probably planning to do some level of custom wiring anyway. In the end (when wired correctly), this harness has absolutely no issues powering a single 120 watt 20" LED light bar and it correctly lights up the little LED in my switch when the system is turned on as well as turning the switch LED off when the system is turned off. I will definitely be back to buy more of these when I inevitably put a third and/or fourth light bar on my truck. ... show more

  • Works Great
This wiring harness is great. I bought some cheap off road lights to mount on the bumper of my 4runner. I have pretty much zero experience with electrical stuff in cars and tried just splicing the lights into my fog light wires (which don't have anything plugged into them currently) with the hopes that I could just do that and use the factory switch on the stick. Well that didn't work, so I bought this harness and it made everything a breeze! Watched a really helpful video on youtube by Chrisfix so that I basically understood what the purpose of everything was. Came with an instruction sheet but honestly it was a little difficult to understand. So watching youtube helped the most. Then it was just a matter of putting wires where they needed to go and drilling out a hole for the switch in the cabin. I used one of the existing spots for switches. Little plastic squares just pop right out and I drilled a hole out big enough that the switch popped right into it. The wires were all plenty long enough for what I was doing, honestly too long, but that's fine. Just make sure not to screw up the little blue connector thingamajigs that you crimp onto the end of the wires if you don't have some laying around because you don't get any extras. Really couldn't be happier with this, works just like it should, was simple to install, and I haven't had any problems with it. Been on the car for a few weeks now and it's been raining on and off about every other day and no issues. Would definitely recommend. ... show more
