Yes - loud. Almost prohibitively. (It is a compressor). But it gets the job done!!! That’s what matters. Once I’ve gotten on top of the humidity at full fan speed (always using the thermostat setting), I’ll turn it down to fan level 1—to what I consider maintenance mode—and it becomes more reasonable. Still, in the bedroom, it can be a lot. Luckily, it’s so powerful, I eventually realized I don’t need it in my room to impact my room effectively. 😅 I ran it for a few weeks at first (and then the weather cleared up). It really got the trapped moisture out, which I couldn’t do with AC alone. I use it on a spill pan as recommended. Moving them together on the carpet is doable. Highlight: Emptying is a breeze. Really nice design. The whole drawer comes out. The convenient handle for lifting makes it effortless. Much better and easier than anticipated. Walking it to the tub is no issue whatsoever. No spilling or splashing as you walk. Not heavy at all, even for us older folks. Really. This was a big worry of mine. I haven’t had to empty it more than once in 24 hours yet, which is not a reflection on its performance, but was also a big question mark. I worked really hard on my selection process. I was on many websites considering everyone’s reviews and feedback, including reading about the historical recall and safety issues. I purchased the three-year plan as no unit/mfr was worry-free, and I didn’t want to waste this investment and start over (with similar results). So far there are no surprises. It functions exactly as it should. It’s powerful enough for one floor - original expectation - but in my two-story 1100 sqft, it’s able to manage the whole home with only the use of a household fan to assist with vertical circulation. Much more efficient and environmentally sustainable than running the AC. I just brought it out again for the atmospheric river headed our way. It’s nice to be able to bring it out and actively manage humidity for health benefits. We can now keep it consistently between 50-60%. Our sweet spot. I’m very happy. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This updated model is a noticeable improvement from the previous version. It operates much more quietly, which makes a big difference during daily use, and the overall weight has been reduced, making it easier to move, lift, or reposition. The moisture removal performance is impressive—it works efficiently and consistently, even more so than the earlier model. The size has also been trimmed down, so it takes up less space without sacrificing effectiveness. With all these upgrades—lighter build, quieter operation, and strong moisture-reducing capability—I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it to others. ... show more

Pros: it works, can de-humidify a small space. Having the app is nice. Cons: it is not quiet by any stretch of the imagination. It’s also not as efficient as cheaper/smaller models I’ve owned. In fact, it has a pretty clear design flaw with its vent placement, as it seems to be blowing a small amount of dry air back into the intake. It’s also just bigger than it needs to be, which is exacerbated by the fact that you should be placing this thing a certain distance away from the walls. So overall, this is just not a good de-humidifier for tucking away in the corner of a bathroom. Not sure what Frigidaire did but they absolutely improved their dehumidifiers. I own 5 ranges in various sizes and none have ever been this quiet. To the point now I want to get rid of my older units and buy new. The older units are so loud compared to this new one. And they were loud out the box even when new. Second time I’ve bought this dehumidifier and both times it arrived broken (box damaged) and didn’t work. The first time I did get another one and I’ve like the dehumidifier though after 2 years it rattles and that makes it almost unusable for a bedroom. I bought this newer one for a different room and this time I don’t want to go through the hassle in case the 3rd one is broken. A good dehumidifier but problems with shipping make it not worth the hassle for me. ... show more
