I live on the top floor of my building, built in the 1800’s and it is like a sauna during the summer months. I purchased the 15,000 btu to cover 700 square feet with cathedral ceilings. Much to my delight the Fredrich surpassed my expectations. It is a big air conditioner and it came with the casing. Great AC showing slightly more scratch and dent than described, but complete and not previously installed. Second we own. Easily installed them myself. This is the max BTU output that runs on 120 VAC. This unit, along with a previously purchased 8,000 BTU Friedrich, cools our entire 1,500 sf. bungalow. That is no small feat in Charleston, SC. This past summer, we endured 5 weeks of tripe digit heat indices with over 90% humidity . Set on "Power Saver", the units ran continuously for 4-6 hours during the heat of the day, then ran in short bursts during cooler hours. The place stayed ice cold. The power usage was much lower than the central unit we got rid of. There is no need for AC service calls; moreover the craftsmanship and superior materials insure numerous years of trouble free use. Maintenance is minimal with washable filters and the "Power Saver" setting keeps indoor humidity very low. Finally found a unit that is worth the price. Extremely quiet as well. ... show more

Any product that has to be returned due to damage should get zero stars. When you pay a premium price for a premium product there is no excuse for scratch or dent product. The Cabinet was dented and sprung/twisted. One of the foam insulation/sound deadening seals was damaged. The box it came in was not damaged. So either I got somebody's return or it was damaged from the mfg. In order to slide the chassis out, the front control panel and the wifi sensor has to be unscrewed from the front grill and left dangling leaving them susceptible to damage as well as possible damage to the plastic hole the screws go into. It would have been far better if there had been connectors on these to wires to simply disconnect. ... show more

The air conditioner arrived damaged but otherwise, it was a fairly good purchase. Not sure if UPS caused the damage or the seller sold the unit damaged. The 3-star rating is solely based on the damaged product.
