I purchased this along with a new pastry/baking mat. This rolling pin worked very well for rolling out pie crust. I have always had trouble with rolling out pie crust in the past, but this pin helped me get the job done. I like it much better than my old "flat" rolling pin. It has very good weight and maneuverability and doesn't roll out the edges too thin like other types of rolling pins. It is surprisingly easy to use and dough doesn't stick to it if you dust it with flour fairly frequently. This rolling pin is easy to clean with mild soap and water. I haven't used it to roll out Fondant, but I would expect it to work well.
