I saw this coat on another website for more than twice the price. Shocked that I got it for such a great price here on Amazon. It's a well-made, lined "bouclé" coat with the contemporary, boxy, European lines I was looking for. It makes a great casual walker/car coat that can be dressed up or down. Great coat. Warm, snuggly, comfortable. Love the snappers at the buttons and the pockets. The color is a little more orange brown in person than I thought and I wasn't sure it looked great with my hair color and complexion. So, I might get the black instead. I first saw this coat at the Macy’s in NYC and waited to long to purchase it, it sold out almost immediately. I then tried buying it locally, and online with no luck at all. I was SO HAPPY I was able to find it on Amazon as it was 1/2 the price. This coat is absolutely beautiful. It fits true to size (I am 5’6’ 155 and the medium is perfect) as long as you are not wearing anything bulky underneath. Fabric is wonderful (not itchy) and construction feels very well made. I so wanted to love this faux shearling coat but it just didn't fit well. The sizing is off in this garment but it is nicely made. Perhaps it may work for another but not for me. I ordered my correct size but it didn't fit as such and possibly mis-sized or mis-proportioned in size. I don't like giving negative reviews but this may help someone else. Good luck! I wasn't expecting this coat to be as warm as it is, considering it's not wool, but I have been pleasantly surprised. If you wear it with a sweater/other layers, I found it tolerable in 30 degree weather. It's very soft and snuggly and I enjoy wearing it. The fit is straight/looser. The pockets are a decent size for your hands or your keys and phone. My only complaint is that it does tend to shed some red lint on other clothing or my car seat. ... show more

I had been looking at Sherpa jackets as an alternative to those days when a puffer was too warm (and frankly, I am sick of wearing black puffers all winter long.) I was also nostalgic for my mother’s wool, cashmere and alpaca camel swing coat from the 80s, which I stupidly gave to a vintage store because it was too long and wide on me. This French Connection Sherpa is exactly right for urban living when the weather is 40 to 50. Cosy, as lightweight as my puffer, and able to be dressed up for an evening out - or worn with a wool scarf for a trip to the supermarket!
