I was surprised at how easy this was to install. The instructions are clear and after you screw the brackets in, the blind top clicks right in. You hold it at an angle and a simple push backwards clicks it into place. I like the color, it’s true to the description. Plus the size and fit work well. It so much cheaper than custom shades and i found the quality good as well. I’m very pleased and was hoping to buy more. Unfortunately, it pulled out of the frame one day because apparently my window frame is just plastic trim with no wood around the window for 4 inches! Not the manufacturers fault at all so no stars were removed. I just wanted to warn others because you’ll have to buy long wood screws to properly install it. I’m having problems finding screws longer than 4 inches. Because you have to pull it down you are putting stress on a piece of plastic with no sturdy structure to support that level of stress. Before ordering knock on the top of the window frame if you have a KB home. Yours could be made of plastic too.

In the box you get all the hardware required to install the shades. You have 2 options to mount. You can mount it in the window sill or outside of it. Double check on your window size correctly before ordering depending on which style you’re planning to install. I wanted to cover a door window so an outside sill install was fine for me. Install was very straightforward and I like the ingenuity behind the install. You put the brackets in the roller just as it would be fully installed. You line it up to where you want it mounted. I used a level to make sure it was perfect and not lob sided. I marked with a pencil where the brackets would sit. I took out the brackets from the roller and lined up just the two brackets where I previously penciled. I used a drill to create two pilot holes per bracket and used an impact power tool to mount the two brackets in place. Lastly, I clipped on the roller and that’s it. Super easy. It’s convenient and easy to use. It’s semi opaque design so it will let some light through but you will not be visible from the outside. I did notice that the shade would come up a bit on its own so I put an old necklace on the grab handle (grab handle was also provided) and now it’s perfectly weighted. This product feels premium and I wish I had the money to upgrade all of my windows. One of the easiest 5-star decisions I’ve ever had to make.

I am reviewing the Free Stop Cordless Roller Shades. I got the dark gray color because I wanted to have a strong light filtering aspect without fully getting blackout curtains. The first thing I have to mention is that I put these on my kitchen door that goes to the backyard. That means, I had to do an exterior mount as to an interior mount. The mounting mechanism for this cordless roller shade is a little bit larger than I wish it would be, especially for these exterior mounts. For an interior mouth inside the window sills, this is not a big deal, but for exterior mounting, it does protrude a little bit. However, I can't really complain because the roller mechanism is very a very smooth. It is probably the smoothest that I have used, especially in this price range. It appears to be very durable and response very quickly to movements of the shades. In terms of light blocking, it is not black out, but rather I would say that it blocks out approximately 85% of the light. That's exactly what I was looking for. Installing it was relatively easy since it comes with all the mounting hardware that you need. You also get a little bit of extras. The fit was perfectly fine but I can't really comment too much on it because I had an exterior mount. However, the measurements were exactly spot on for what I ordered. I would say that this is excellent value for money and I'm quite pleased with the roller shades.

I like the light filtering clean look of this blind. All of the hardware is pretty straightforward and easy to install. Unfortunately the shade itself doesn’t move up and down centered on the roller so it doesn’t completely block out the light. It also gets stuck sometimes going up so you need to pull it down and start again. Overall I think it does a fine job in blocking light and the durability of the blind should be fine for the long term. I would not place this in a window for all to see l. This is good for a bathroom, pantry or any secondary room without a lot of use. The fact that you can see the roller and it is not covered lends this item to be cheaper by design and not a design item for your main window.
