The plastic leg base thingy on my office chair cracked and the hydraulic column thing went through and was dragging on the floor. I needed either a new chair or a new base. This was $75, spendy, but cheaper than a whole new chair. I like the gold color, it was easy to assemble, took about five minutes. You just attach the legs to the central assembly and screw them in. I wish there was some kind of instruction on how to remove the old hydraulic thing from the chair, but YouTube helped with that. The wheels roll well enough. Hopefully it’s sturdy enough for my chonky booty, but it says heavy duty. The shiny gold is very fancy. Oh, it raises up taller now, which is great, as I always wished my chair went up just an inch higher. I purchased the replacement base to use on a old desk chair which had only four legs(not legal today). The assembling of the base was straight forward. After putting the chair onto the base the overall height was too high. This was partially due to having to add an adapter plate on the chair in order to bolt on the tilt mechanism. The most effective change to lower the height was to replace the wheels with a smaller diameter set. A great replacement choice. Only problem is that it doesn't highlight uo front that this kit includes the longest (of four) choices of lift cylinders. I was misled as the description says 'universal' fitting. Only to find out later that there are actually four sizes of lift cylinders available on their website - all are called 'universal' LOL. Unlucky for me, my existing lift cylinder was the shortest. So instead of returning the whole package back to faithful Amazon, I just otdrtrd the extra cylinder that I needed, since I like the overall product anyway. So future buyers, check your size of cylinder first!. That's my advice! ... show more
