If you are looking for an inexpensive solution for storing any size balls, pool toys, sandbox toys and even those light weight self winding hoses, this bag will work. It is made of a hard plastic open weave mesh. We've seen these mesh bags used in smaller sizes for things like plastic soldiers and other plastic toys. It's sturdy enough as long as you use it for light weight and not sharp items. We have three of these and they are great on a hook in the garage for keeping things off the floor and organized. We use one for our variety of basketballs, soccer balls and baseballs. What is great, is when these balls get dirty, we do a quick hose off and just throw them in the mesh bag. They air dry perfect when hanging. We also keep our self winding hoses in the bag- again the light weight hoses dry perfect hanging in the bag. And last we found this bag perfect for pool and sandbox toys. A quick hose off and they air dry in the bag. With three bags, we have eliminated ball, hose and toy clutter and it's so convenient to just hose and bag these items to air dry. As long as the items are light weight and not sharp, I can see the bag lasting even with it's inexpensive construction.

The Franklin Sports Equipment Bag is a fairly large equipment bag at 25" x 36" and utilizes strong plastic meshing. While schools, coaches or parents can easily utilize this bag to hold equipment or toys/stuffed animals to be kept indoors, it also works great as a lightweight travel laundry bag as well. The only thing that I'm not sure is how durable this mesh is. Granted, one can stretch out the plastic mesh and rip it up but I'm not sure if it would withstand being left outdoors, especially through soggy winters and hot/dry weather during the summer. But in terms of an equipment bag to hold onto equipment and other things, and you are careful from preventing any snags, the bag works great. If you are in need of an equipment bag to hold onto your athletic gear, balls, stuffed animals or travel the world and use it as a lightweight laundry bag, the Franklin Sports Equipment Bag is recommended!

When I first opened the plastic packaging, I was greeted by a strong plasticky smell. This is probably par for the course, but I expected a little more for a bag that costs nearly a Hamilton. Fortunately, it will go away over time and throwing it in an initial wash should clear it out. While the product photo suggests placing large balls in here, you're not limited by that option. Given its 25"x36" dimensions, I'll likely use it to store snorkel equipment -- including fins -- the mesh works perfect for that. It will also hold laundry, though the drawstring is a little taught and a bit hard to use for that purpose, in my opinion. The seams appear of mediocre quality so I wouldn't suggest any lead weights inside -- perhaps a total load of 15-20 pounds is about right, though there are no manufacturer suggestions in this regard. It is made in China like other products of this type. This bag is fine, but given the generic nature of this type of product, I'd look for something cheaper.

This is a good quality made equipment bag. This is a great place to put all the kids balls gloves etc. The bag is very suture. Will not tear when you are carrying it. This also makes a great laundry bag as well. Good way to keep your stuff in one place.

This is alright, it works, but I'm not a fan of the construction. I had hoped for something a little more soft, maybe something like a less annoying cottony material. But this is a plasticy type of material, and has the feel of something like the mesh bags that onions come in. For me, the material itself would make this about a 2 star item, but I'm guessing that this material will be less absorbent of odors if you're using it to lug things like gym shoes around in, or if you use it as a dirty clothes hamper. In that case, this plastic would serve a purpose, which is why I stuck with 3 stars for my review. But I'm just not a fan of the harsh feel of this. Tossing this over the shoulder to haul things out to the beach pretty much necessitates having a shirt on to keep from annoying your back and shoulder. The cinch works alright, but the "rope" inside is the same plasticy material that the mesh is, so it doesn't move very smoothly, and gets caught up quite a bit. But it does the job, and the price is alright. I just wish it wasn't quite as "harsh" a material.
