  • Great borescope with innovative features and clear picture
Size: Single Lens
I have used several borescopes over the years and this is the best I have seen at this price point. It comes in a semihard zipper case which also includes the owners manual, several lens cleaning pads, and a USB cable. Function is pretty much intuitive, but reading the manual was useful. There are 3 LED brightness level plus off. The end pivots in one plane only. Twisting and inserting/withdrawing the flexible cable (carefully) allow view of just about anything with a little practice. Buttons on the scope allow 3 levels of zoom, picture rotation, picture deletion, and menu selection. This scope can save still pictures or videos on the included 32 GB TF card (equivalent to mIcro SD). Stills are in standard jpg, and take 125-150 KB. Videos are in AVI (old but viewable in any PC. Apple Quicktime does not play AVI but there are free apps for Apple that play AVI). The AVI videos are ~3 MB/sec, so the card can hold ~3 hours of video. The device can take a 64 GB TF card if more recording time is desired. Things this scope lacks: Side viewing camera. This has one forward viewing camera only. Attachments for fetching lost items. Some scopes have places to mount small hooks and magnets to retrieve the small part that fell into the floor register. This one is for looking only. Extra long reach- this has 5 feet, long enough for almost any task. I have an older scope with a 16 foot reach- it's a real pain to control and manipulate once you get past 6 or 7 feet. The unique feature that this scope has is that the recorded videos and still pictures can be accessed by connecting the scope to a computer with the included USB-C cable or any other similar cable. Other scopes that I have used require removal of the TF card, finding an adapter, and inserting the TF card into the computer, then removing it and replacing the TF back into the scope when finished. Just connected with a standard USB cable is way easier. The pictures attached show the ventilation fan and circuitry of my microwave over and the recording head of my VCR. Amazon does not accept AVI files here, so no video. TL;DR: This scope will fit almost any need if you don't need to go way deep or retrieve stuff a lot. ... show more

  • This in not supposed to be a toy ... but it is to play with!
Size: Dual Lens
I remember when I was younger hearing a saying, "How can you tell the men from the boys? By the price of their toys!!" Now, this thing's not real expensive. A couple of hundred bucks isn't that bad. Heck, I'm sure every man reading this probably has thousands of dollars invested in tool/toys. If you don't have one of these, let your "significant other" know that you'd sure like this as a birthday present. It's not like taking up flying, or even scuba diving, but once you start playing with this gadget you might become 'hooked' like I did. I found myself looking in walls at wiring and plumbing, or just see what's inside that light switch. Let's pull a couple of spark plugs and see what shape our car's pistons are in. I hate so show how silly I got, I even scoped out my nostrils and ear holes to see if I had any brains in there! (ha ha ha). This borescope is in living color, and the graphics are sharp. It comes with a 5 ft cable, and I have to wonder if I can get a longer one for this product? You can rotate the tip (which I call the finger) around to go around corners. You can see both straight ahead, and sideways. Fellas, don't take my word for it ... get one of these gadgets ... uh, I mean tools and see how engrossed you can get with it. If you've ever pulled wiring, and wonder just what the crap is causing it to get hung-up, you're gonna love this! I have to rate this a five star tool, and a five star "man toy" for a total of 10 stars!! ... show more

  • Handy device to have around.
Size: Single Lens
This endoscope works as advertised. Nothing exceptional, but very handy for checking around my engine bay for oil seepage or leaks. I was able to identify some oil seeping under my intake manifold and a few other spots that are normally difficult to see. Photo and video resolution are only adequate, I expected a bit better given today’s tech. The camera probe is stiff but flexible, and routing it takes some practice. The articulating tip (up/down only) helps you look around obstacles. The light has four brightness levels, which makes it usable in dark or partially lit areas. Video is saved in AVI format, so I wasn’t able to upload a sample for the review. Photos were taken at the highest resolution the camera offers. Charging and file transfer use USB‑C, and it records photos, video, and audio, which is a plus. The menu system is simple and easy to navigate. It took about five minutes of tinkering to get it set up and start inspecting around the engine bay. It comes with a nice zippered storage case and a brief manual covering the basic modes and functions. For the price, I feel this kind of simple tech should cost a bit less, so the overall value isn’t great. ... show more
