This is a great little AC unit. I am using it for a bit of a different purpose and abnormal install. It is sitting inside my home network rack cooling multiple devices with no issues. Pulling only 500 watts, I can run this unit off my Anker Solix 1500 and not worry about draining the batteries too quickly. The unit is small, light and very efficient. I do believe it will cool a small room with no issues. The remote feature was a must for me because I am using a smart controller to run the AC unit on a schedule.     • Bottom Line...Don't Buy! No cold air!

Bottom line...did not work out of the box! Unboxed it yesterday, July 22, 2025 and attached the accordion panels. The user guide was not helpful with that part so I looked up a video to see how to attach those to the unit. We are using the ac unit in our utility room that is approx 14 x 10 and the window sits behind our washer so I had to move that out of the way. Get the unit in place and turn it on. Comes on immediately and I adjust the mode to 'cool' and adjust the temp down to 68. I check the airflow and it is blowing room temp air. I check multiple things to make sure I have everything adjusted correctly and then decide to wait for awhile to check it again. Maybe it needs to run for some time before it begins to cool down. Go eat dinner and watch a show and check again. No cool/cold air. Still only room temp. I try to contact support for GE but it's after hours. Leave it running overnight and still no cool/cold air. I will be returning this and going with a different brand. Save your money and time. That is the thing that really gets me is the time I spent assembling and installing and now I have to take it out of our window (move the stinking washer again!) and box it up and waste more time getting it returned. Why did you pick this product vs others?: It's cold. It is the quietest of any window unit that I've purchased. It's quieter than a different GE window unit that I bought last year that's a different make/model. The other GE window unit has an annoying buzzing sound that's higher pitched (like 233 Hz or B flat just below middle C) and difficult to tune out--it's like having tinnitus. But this GE window unit sounds more like calming background white noise. I've had other brands in the past, like Frigidaire. I hope GE never discontinues this unit! ... show more

I am not happy with AC performance. Nice, small, clean design. Quality is not great, side panels was broken: i had to order isolation. Ideal for small rooms. Noise level is not bad.

We’re using this for a small office space where the computers add extra heat to the room and the front windows face right into the sun. This little unit cools things down right away when needed, but then we can turn it down to low or eco mode to keep the noise down and maintain the temp. Positives: quick to cool, solid build, no rattling, easy to install Main complaints: very little choice in how the vents blow in. They have two separate tabs that let you direct the air left or right, but I wish I could direct it up so it's not blowing directly on us or equipment. I've seen other's (for less) that have six-way adjustable vents, so the design is lacking a bit there. ... show more

We are so happy with this new unit. We updated from the last unit GE was selling. There have been NO PROBLEMS at all with it so far. It runs quiet and when the compressor comes on you can hardly hear it. I am grateful for this unit. Thank you GE. BLESSINGS.

If I could leave no stars I would. I ordered two of these units last week, one showed up damaged, which I am sending back tomorrow. The other looked fine on the outside, but once plugged in and turned onto cool, it literally doesn’t even affect the room temperature. The package honestly looked like it had already been opened and the unit possibly used/refurbished. Very upset with these purchases. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. Update: we went out and actually bought another GE unit, but this one was straight from the physical store and 100% brand new. Works great! ... show more
