The media could not be loaded. I was having codes P0172 and P006A, and suspected a leak somewhere. I had never used a smoke machine before, but this little unit made it easy. It took a minute or so, but sure enough smoke came wafting up from behind the bumper. I had to take off the bumper to see the problem… the nuts securing the piping from the turbocharger to the intercooler had worked loose. Easy fix, but you have to know where to look. This machine did the trick. Highly recommend, and a great value. Very easy to set up and use. Only ding is the poor English in the user’s manual, but the info you need is there and clear enough. ... show more

The smoker was not what I expected. Poor quality. Was returned on March 18. As of today I did not get my refund. Buyer be aware of POOR quality and they keep your money.

Took no time at all to setup. Hooked up to the intake snorkel via the bellows. About 2 minutes later i spotted a vacuum leak! Had a lean condition and was stalling when warmed up but started cold perfectly. The leak was right after the MAF sensor. Good quality product with good accessories. Would recommend especially at the price point. Already saved me money after the first use! ... show more

Nicely made, fairly easy to set up and use too. Great for finding boost leaks or vacuum leaks, or leaks in general. The unit puts out a good amount of smoke, and all you need to get started is some good smoke oil. Used it to trace a leak on my old turbo Nissan, and it worked quickly and easily. Smoke leak was apparent almost instantly. Saved a ton of time, vs checking for loose clamps and cracked couplings. Nice smoke machine for the money! ... show more

FOXWELL ST201 Automotive Smoke Machine Built-in Air Compressor, EVAP Vacuum Exhaust Engine System Pipe Diagnostic Tester, High Stress Smoke Leak Detector for Car Motorcycle Truck i tested this on a dc power supply 14v 6a. first complaint is in the back of the manual it states: "smoke oil. advise use special smoke oil...also this unit can use baby oil as smoke oil..." i think at the point this goes for there should be oil in the box. come on. you can get a 30bill hvac smoker with a jar of oil. this one retails at 170bill. alright with that out of the way. it is built like a tank. it is overbuilt for what it is. this should last for generations kept properly in the workshop. i have a vac leak in my shop van and have started acquiring smokers because i am fascinated by them. once i realized the po171 and 174 was a vacuum problem and all you had to do was burn a little oil in a jug i just started acquiring smokers. theyre so cool. mainly will be for photography stuff down the road, but still have to address that lean bank stuff in the van. anyway, this is an impressive unit. obviously i tested in my lab so not off a real battery but it should be fine. biggest complaint is it comes with a funnel that i dont think you could fit a needle thru. i used glycerin which is pretty thick, like glue thick stuff. smokes well but thic k. and that little funnel was having a hard time. and before i started cussing wondering how much is in there i noticed the little oil level window on the side of the unit. fantastic i thought to myself. with power it has a lit led then there is a start button and a stop button. manual says it can run straight for 10 minutes. i will take their word for it. has its own fan/ or compressor and a burner of some kind. so it cooks your "special" oil. then pushes it thruy the hose. you would then make a seal on probably the air intake i guess and push the smoke thru your engine and see where the smoke is slipping out. then that part gets fixed. no more po171 174. yay. good luck. this is an impressive unit no doubt but over kill for the weekend mechanic in my opinion. there are much easier and cheaper ways to skin that cat. fyi. but for a garage, ideal. ... show more
