This light has so many good things going for it. It is tall and thin (every woman's dream, right?) and has a ton of light patterns that seem ready to have fun with. And it makes the entire wall, and room, look like a great party is underway. Here's what went wrong: I like in a house where someone with a strong enough antenna (like truckers use for their CB radio) could cause lights to turn themselves on. For this reason alone I no longer purchase the lights that can be turned on with a touch. They go on all night long. Well, this light has a similar, if not identical issue. When I picked it up to move it, it turned itself on, so I just turned if off with the remote. No biggie. But, later, as I was sitting there, the light suddenly came on. It turned itself back off and then came on again and began going through the patterns. It was, uh, interesting. One other thing was that the light kept going back to a red light, when I changed it, it would change itself back to red, which, because I love horror movies, really made me think of the more recent boogeyman trailer. So - not a happy feeling there. LOL. I did not get around to downloading the app - mainly because the light turned itself on. But, I'm more of a manual button pusher anyway, and prefer to be able to work an item without yet another app on my phone. At this point I need one app to rule them all. LOL. Jokes aside, this lamp is really cool and but not for the fact that it picks up interference and turns itself on, it would have been a great addition to my lighting. I will likely keep working with it to see if there is a way to stop that from happening because I really love the sleek look of this light and how soft the part that actually lights up is. It is super soft - I have no idea what that material is, but it is so soft. Otherwise, I will plug it in on an as needed basis - which is inconvenient, but I like the patterns and colors (when it's not scary-movie red). 8) ... show more

I have been looking at this light for a while since I like the style of it. I’ve had it in and out of the cart and always hesitated wondering if I really needed it. I’m so glad that I got it. I love it. It makes a great addition to the room. I had no idea that it was a Bluetooth either until I got it. It was fairly easy to assemble but I did try to go off on my own and had to backtrack and follow the directions in the exact steps they are listed. If you do not, you will have to go back and undo and redo like I did. When it was finished, the lamp looked great. It was a little shorter than I thought it would be but I was okay with that as well. It has a controller that has on/off, color change settings, brightness and dimming, and light style changes but like all other items in my house, I wanted to use the app. I used the QR on the instruction sheet and downloaded the app. I was told the app was not approved by iOS and could not be used. After messing around a little, I typed in the name of the app into my Applications and a different version of the app came up and this one was usable. So, do not use the QR version of the app. It does not work. The other version works just fine. One thing I did notice, without the app, I can not get the lamp to full brightness just by turning it one manually. To adjust it to its brightest setting, you need to use the app. Overall, love the lamp but it does have some features that need to be worked around to have it work to its full potential. ... show more

    • Not as bright as others
So this light is pretty cool for sure. It had a nice range of color. Easy to assemble, and pretty sturdy. I will say the light is dimmer than others, however. Not terrible - just slightly dimmer.

    • I expected more for the price
I found the pieces to be very thin and flimsy. Especially where it attaches to the disc and plug at the bottom. It easily falls over and i would suggest maybe using it in a corner with a chest or table beside it to offer a little support and to keep it from tipping over if an arm or a toy touches it. The app is not user friendly! Don’t bother using the QR code! It downloads the wrong app! You have to go to the App Store and search for the app by name. I can see that kids will get a kick out of this with the flashing lights and changing colors, but it’s not for me. I will be taking it to goodwill. It is certainly not worth $50. I’ve seen others on Amazon that look far more sturdy! ... show more

    • Shorter and not as bright as I hoped
I suppose I should've paid more attention to the product dimensions, but I was expecting a taller lamp, more in line with other floor lamps you normally see. It was a little annoying to assemble but not terrible - the worst part was fitting the led light strip into the vertical bar. I have not downloaded the app because I don't want yet another smart light app on my phone. I'd rather just control it manually. The colored lights are fun, but I rarely use them. I mainly just use this for a white lamp in the room -- however it's not strong enough to light the whole room up. ... show more

I use this lamp for mood lighting. It really looks good with all the other rgb lighting fixtures I own. It has many lighting effects and colors, as well as an app to control it all from your phone. If this locked together a bit better piece-by-piece, I would have said 5 stars all the way. I wouldn't call it "Flimsy" but the slightest disturbance can cause the pieces to become misaligned and require straightening. THAT all said, as an accent corner light behind say a set of speakers, the effect is GREAT and no complaints ... show more

    • Cool floor lamp with some cool features!
Have been looking at these style lamps for a while and was excited to give this a try. Assembly was fairly simple and just took a few moments to set up. The directions provide a QR code for getting the correct app, and my Alexa picked up the lamp almost instantly. Over brightness is very good for this lamp, and there are a LOT of customization options. The length of the light offers segment control so you can assign each segment it's own color. It can respond to music, as well as offers many different pre-set scenes. My only strike against it would be that I haven't figure out a way to get it into Homebridge for use with Siri, but it also didn't claim to be compatible with Homekit or Siri, so that's not really a hit.
