Great popcorn machine - very well made. Kettle heats up really quickly, so I put in the popcorn kernels soon after pouring in the coconut oil. This size pops one cup of kernels at a time. Cleanup is easy - I wipe inside the machine and kettle with a lightly damp paper towel.

    • Works perfectly and good popcorn!
I was able to put this together in a few minutes. There were no damaged parts. The only minor issue is the far side hook is difficult to put the bucket in. I have to slightly bend it outward. But once it was put together, it was great! A few minor issues. 1) The first time using it, I did wash everything, but there was black residue on the first 3 batches of popcorn. I recommend popping a few batches and throwing them away. 2) The bottom plate has 2 screws holding it down, but the back of the plate was under the track for it, causing the kernels to get stuck. Check to make sure the tray is in the right spot. 3) The tracks for the sliding tray were bent somehow. I had to bend them a bit to make it slide in easily. After all that, it's been super nice! I use store brand popcorn and canola oil as indicated in the directions. ... show more

    • Always wanted one
I have always wanted a theater popcorn popper. I love the smell in the house and the taste. It came well packaged and in good order. I use it on a weekly basis, especially when my daughter comes to visit with her husband. It is easy to use and clean. I wanted to buy the 8 ounce because it's just a little over 2 bags of microwave popcorn. I use the buttery oil and theater salt. It is still easy to clean if I leave it a couple of weeks. One thing bothered me at first, it pops quite a few Kernels out unpopped. I put a magnet on each of the lids for weight and there is a bit less unpopped kernels. Still love it and the bottom warmer with the light warmer. Keeps popcorn good till gone. It's good for home use, may be a bit small if you need more volume. I'ld say it handles 12-18 people in 15 minutes or so of popping, could do more with more time. It will pop a batch starting cold in about five minutes, quicker for next batch. Let me start with saying that I’ve been researching different popcorn machines, for the past year and a half. Been reading all the reviews. Positive and negative. As a mom, I’ve worked many concession stands and so I knew exactly how to clean a popcorn machine. That’s one negative that I would always read about. People saying it was difficult to clean. Easiest way to take care of a popcorn machine at home, is to take a couple paper towels and a couple dry paper towels and wipe the inside of the cooker on both sides and then pull the handle down and all the loose crumbs will fall out. Next, wipe down the inside with wet towels and then dry. Once a week , take the cooker off and do a deep clean. Which is basically the same thing with a wet sponge and dry. Be sure not to wet the cord or under the popper itself. ( where the cord connects) I find doing it that way , is so much easier. Once you do it a few times, it becomes so much easier and you get the hang of it. I wipe it down after each use, but a deep cleaning once a week. Which also becomes easier with time. I would have to say that another bad review I read constantly, was the popcorn being dented during shipping. I added a pic of the dent my popcorn machine had when I took it out of the box and the excitement I had turned into a frown on my face. The drawer that collects the kernels on the bottom, didn’t slide all the way in or out. It was frustrating. I’d been searching for a popcorn machine for a year and a half and I was a little disappointed. It also said it included 3 packs of pre measured popcorn for the machine and they did not send it. I really wanted it, so that I could see if I liked it and I would have ordered more. So I tried some with another company and they had a great price for 24 packs. I do have to add that it did come with the popcorn scoop which was cool and it came with measuring spoons. Oh and with a small pack of popcorn bags. Which I loved, because it made me feel like I was at the theater. I also ordered some Kraft cheese to sprinkle on top and it was the Bomb! So I guess I can say this, if you are considering this popcorn machine. It works great, clean up is really easy, make more than enough for movie night and even a party. It’s a really good size machine. The down side was the dent in the machine, the drawer that didn’t really work and the missing popcorn they advertised that would come with the machine. I really didn’t feel like calling them or placing an order for a replacement, because I didn’t want to repack it and unpack it. It just seemed like a hassle. Maybe I can take the dent out. It didn’t affect the popcorn making lol Over all it’s a great machine and does what it’s supposed to do. You can smell popcorn the minute you enter my house.     • Great popcorn maker for a pop corn lover
My wife is a huge popcorn person. She actually goes to the movies just so she can get the popcorn. I am not a huge fan of movie theaters because there is always some annoying kid or group of people that ruin your movie experience. I compromised with my wife and she told me if we can get a good popcorn maker that we don't have to go to the movies anymore. While this popcorn maker is one of the more expensive ones it is so worth it. It honestly tastes just like movie theater popcorn. I always saw a lot of other people saying in their reviews that this was hard to clean, I in my experience have not noticed that. Yes it is going to be a harder clean up then trowing out the bag of microwave popcorn but it is not much harder. The kettle comes out very easily and as long as you wash it every time it takes less then a minute to clean the kettle. the rest of the maker is very easy to clean up the popcorn kernels come out very easily. ... show more

    • Great Build Quality & Excellent Popcorn!
I use a large commercial popcorn machine occasionally at my work, and wasn't expecting this machine to be as good. First of all, I was surprised at the quality of the stainless steel used to build it (I was expecting it to be flimsy). It also has three glass sides, (I was expecting plexiglass) and a heater on the bottom to keep the popcorn warm (be careful as I burned a finger not realizing it was there!). I find that it's actually as easy to clean this as the big commercial popper at work, because removing the popping kettle on this one is so much easier. The most important thing, however, is that it makes great popcorn (not chewy like air popped corn, or waxy like microwave popcorn). The popcorn is also good even the next few days after popping it. I purchased this to replace previous attempts (over the years) at making great popcorn (stir-crazy popper, air popper, & a stove-top stirring popper), and I couldn't be more happy with the investment. It's also small enough I can put it away between uses (in a big cupboard under my counter). I highly recommend this to anyone who wants real movie-house popcorn in their home. Had I known that you could purchase this commercial quality for under a few hundred bucks, I would have purchased this years ago! ... show more

Beautiful product! Construction is very sturdy, paint/finish is beautiful! It looks just like those you see at a movie theater albeit smaller. I purchased this as a gift for my youngest daughter’s family. Kettle can produce enough popcorn for her family of 7 and it looks at home in their theater room! ... show more

    • Save your packaging for returns
We made a total of 4 batches of popcorn using the Great Northerns "all in one" packages recommended for this machine before returning this item. Batch 1 - Everything went great! Worked as expected. Popcorn yummy! Zero issues. I mention this so you know I did know how to set up and operate the machine correctly. Batch 2 (1 week later) - The arm that stirs the corn in the kettle got pieces of popped corn wedged under it so it got stuck, and the kettle would not turn over either. Popcorn sat burning in the kettle until I had to disconnect the kettle entirely from the tipping assembly and dig it out with a spoon. By that time, the bottom of pan was coated with scorched corn. I cleaned the kettle thoroughly and reinstalled it. It turned over just fine. Okay, I figure I must have done something wrong. I'll try it again. Batch 3 - (3 days later) Again, corn got stuck beneath the stirring arm and again I could not tip the kettle over. I test the machine thoroughly before this batch, ensuring the pot could easily tip/rotate before placing the oil and corn in it to cook, and also ensuring the gears at the top were fully meshed. It still got stuck, the pot would not tip, and the corn burned again. I contacted customer service for help. They asked me to send a video. So I cleaned the kettle thoroughly again. Note: it took about 1 week for me to see customer service response since it got caught by my SPAM filter. Batch 4 (1 week later) - I made another batch and carefully videoed exactly what happened. Same results as batch 2 and 3: stuck kettle, burned corn. I sent the video to Customer Service. They said, "we can't do anything...just return it." We got the return QR code and took the item in for "free" return via UPS who then charged us $50 for repackaging the product. Yikes! I mentioned to customer service and they said, "Sorry, no discounts or help with the package." I do not save packaging from every product I buy online. The house would be overflowing with boxes. I guess that's the way to do it, though. I cannot recommend buying this product online. The return cost is too much of a risk. But if you do buy it, either get it locally or save your packaging for the entire warranty period. The machine itself seems like it would do a good job if it actually worked.
